HFP problem Quicky Question

Just removed my progress springs tonite and installed my HFP suspension.
All went well and seemed perfect until I drove over a speed bump and heard a nasty metal on metal clunk.

Now this install was simple as hell and didn't take much time at all. Everything was torqued tight to spec.

However, I did realize that I didn't use the bag of nuts and bolts that came with the kit. I used the factory nuts and bolts. Prior to leaving the garage I noticed that the new bolts were slightly larger in diameter. Am I feeling the play from using the stock parts. I'm gonna fix this asap, I just want some opinions.

I do have one question I would like answered by some-1 who knows whats up.

The HFP suspension kit for my 06 Si came with two bags of new nuts and bolts. Why?
What is the consequence if you screwed up and re-used the stock bolts. You think this is the problem?

More or less, why do they give you new nuts and bolts in the HFP kit?

Thank you!

They supply new hardware because the original locking systems on the hardware are single use, I think.

the main reason why there are new bolts with the kit is torque spec purposes. once you torque a new bolt down to specs it ever so slightly strecthes out....its like .0001 of inch so minute the human eye can't tell. when that happens and you retighten the same bolts again the torque needed to get it tight will be different. on suspension components its not that big of a deal if you reuse the old nuts and bolts just as long as the suspension is free of binding. now if you were building a motor or rebuilding you would all the time have to use new hardware because you want extremely tight tolerances...

an exception to this is that nylon lock-nuts tend to have their locking abilities wear off after repeated use...

Actually the reason is that the nuts / bolts that come with the factory setup are one time use pinch bolts that are designed to be thrown away..
