Post Eibach Sportlines (1.5" drop around) REVIEW

Well, let me first say that the drop looks SEX! Its perfect...its even and puts the wheels just under the fender. I have to say out of all the drops I have had in my life (with springs) this would have to be the most impressive looking. I dont think it could have been more perfect, even with coilovers.

However, the ride is not as good. I noticed before hand that the car was bumpy, we have a stiff OEM suspension. Not to mention the fact the rear suspension is european-style with the spring and struts separate and not 'inside' each other. That, mixed with REAL double wishbone suspension for the front was a tad stiff. With these springs, though, its MUCH worse (if you want to call it worse, i'm sure some would like it) and its almost at the point where I want it switched out. I am going to wait for a month or so and see if I am able to get use to it, but I really am unaware of what the outcome will be.

All in all, for looks, its a 9-10, for ride, its 5-6.....

EDIT: Pics with the Volks on at the top of page 4

Anyone else have these? What is your take? I am riding on stock shocks and struts....eventually, when Koni does their thing, I will get those....but I dont expect a huge difference. I hear that the tire pressure may be too high...I suppose I will check it, even though the dealership filled mine with NITROGEN...lol

Under 1 degree...for performance wise, its fine...there isnt a need for a camber kit with it...the tires, in time, will recognize a small amount of uneven wear, but I will want new tires by then anyway...

These go on in a few days

Give your tires a good 3 months and you will see inner wear. Mine did!

I have the sportlines, and I have to agree I love the drop. As far as the ride being harsh, just give it time. I've had mine on for close to 6-7 months now. My stock struts and shocks have wore in enough to give me a perfect ride.

Looks good, I have the same springs... I for one love the firm ride, but I can see where some people would dislike it.

These are definitely the best looking spring drop out there.

Yeah, Dennis got me in last minute. I had to cancell the first appt because of parts ot being here. I am ordering the HFP kit in the spring. When is your pro kit coming?

On a side note:

He said the IMG, like the TSX (K24) was a bitch to install. You have to drain the radiator to get around the cooling mechanism (not sure what he said that was called) to put the gasket on. Sounds like it really was alot of work...he did a great job.

(and the intake sounds like a ****** beast at WOT)

I have Sportlines too. They're nice, but I haven't had any ride issues - they fill just fine to me, if not a little soft. If you think it's harsh now, wait till you put Koni's on. These springs need a firmer shock IMO, and could stand to be another .25" lower in the rear. Did you trim all the bump-stops?

Besides the usual, better cornering, improved handling (minus the bumps)....I dont have any other suspension mods yet. I am doing the sway and strut bars next though....

my pro kit springs are here. springs, progress rear sway, and the 5zigens are all going on at the same time so that i'll only have to get an alignment once. the only thing i have to order before them everything installed are my tires.

going to be ordering little things coming in february:
- tires
- fogs
- corpsort metal shifter bushings
- spc rear camber kit
- sri (injen [black] or k&n [will be powdercoated black])
- capitalautoclub stickers (to go along side my 8thcivic.com stickers for added hp!)
