The HFP suspension for the Si sedan will be priced the same as the coupe ($800 retail). The part number for the Si sedan suspension is 08W60-SNX-100. Honda does not show an ETA date for release yet....

OK so here is my question... If people are taking the SI suspension and putting it on their r18's then why could we not use the r18 HFP suspension for the SI sedan?

I'm a parts manager at a Honda dealership. I like to spend my spare time finding parts in the Honda system before they come out. It's kind of a hobby so to speak.

Check this --

Each car that comes from Honda has it's own identification in it's part number relating a particular part to that car. The 8th-gen civic coupe is SVA and the civic sedan is SNA. For the Si coupe, the code is SVB. The code for the Si sedan is SNX.

So, knowing that the part number for the Si coupe suspension is 08W60-SVB-100, one can assume that the number for the Si sedan would be 08W60-SNX-100. Sure enough, when I enter that part number into Honda's Interactive Network under parts information, the part number popped up along with the famous phrase "NOT YET AVAILABLE".

I love finding out stuff like this. It feels like you're trying to decipher some type of secret code or something.

I was not trying to compare the two. I am waiting on the HFP suspension. They do have it listed on their website, but it is on back order. I would imagine that means they have not received it yet, but you can still order it.

I was saying that people take the SI coupe suspension and put it on their say EX coupe. So my question is that since they make HFP suspension for the say EX sedan why can we not use the HFP sedan suspension on the SI sedan?

you're comparing 2 completely different situations. people place stock Si suspension and putting it on an EX coupe b/c they know they will get a lower ride w/ stiffer suspension. you're replace stock for stock. HFP suspension, however, is specifically designed for each type of car. will the nonSi suspension fit on the Si sedan? it probably would. However, the weight and travel at each corner on the Si sedan will be different vs a nonSi. Most ppl (including me) won't take the chance of placing the nonSi version on their vehicle simply b/c of this issue.

The SI HFP can not be that much different than the sedan HFP. I am going to try to find a deal and I guess I will be the first here to do that to my SI sedan. I just don't see the big deal. A guy on ebay was selling one for 430 shipped and I should have snagged it. Its about the same as good springs and a camber kit yet I would still believe that the shocks/struts are still more hardcore of the HFP than our SI's. Just my .02 Everyone says it will not work but it will. There has to be a reason why people say it will not work.
