Speed Bumps.
Hey I couldn't find a thread talking about this so I just thought I would start one. I'm about to do suspension work on my car and remembered some trouble I had in the past with lowered cars. Those of you who have aftermarket suspension component's (springs, coilovers, etc..), have any of you had problems with speed bumps due to being lowered? Anyone find themselves having to do the cut-the-wheel method? please reply with what springs/coilovers you have on your car.

You'll never drive any of my cars......HFP kit or notI avoid bumps and holes like the plague I only have a problem getting in my driveway coming from one direction. If I come in the opposite, I'm fine. I only have 1 speedbump where I rub the lower air deflector. Tein S-Techs 1.4 drop front, 1.3 rear |

Measure how far your bumper sticks out past the tires going straight out, then measure how much it sticks out on a corner with the wheel turned into it. If that doesn't explain it then you're helpless.

Going over a speedbump at an agle is not better than head on. On MOST vehicles, the lowest part of the car is centered between the tires. If you take the speedbump head on your whole car will raise off the ground. The only scraping you might worry about is the front end hanging over. If you go over diagonally you risk hitting the oil pan and well as whatever may be between the wheels. Diagonal only works for driveways not speedbumps. In a driveway you try and raise the car so as to not scrape the bumper. The quicker it's higher, the better thus come up at an angle and get the bumper up before getting the second wheel closer to the obstacle

going over speed bumps at an angle achieves three things first is your approach angle increases(you actually turn into the speed bump instead of head on) second is your wheel base is shortened(this will help clear the underneath of your car because as your front wheel is on its way down the rear is on its way up) and last is your departure angle(which helps clear your muffler or rear lip kit).
