at first they wont brake as they should because they have to be broken in so make sure you keep some distance from the car in front of you. when i first had the pads (on stock rotors) i ran a few stop signs when i tried to brake as i usually do. then they will smell as if something is burning and this will last a few days.
next step is SS brake lines and motul RBF 600.......if you buy the motul you will need 2 bottles..just a fyi

I did not experience the break in issue on the stock rotors, but then again they were the back brakes. It has made a difference and so will the SS lines in April or so. |

You left out the fact that you need to keep rolling and not make complete stops when you do this, so trying this around town with traffic lights and stop signs is not a good idea. |

Burnishing Instructions After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES! Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down. After step 4 your new pads are ready for use. |

My 0.02 ...
I used the HPS on 3 of my previous cars and loved them. Much better coefficient of friction than stock (including the factory Brembo pads on my STi), much better initial bite with a higher threshold before fading, pretty low noise (an occasional squeel rectified by rebedding), MUCH less dust than OEM, and pretty easy on the rotors. IMHO, a perfect street/occasional autoX pad! |

i love my hawk hps/powerslot combo on my 7thgen civic. ive been runing this setup for allmost 3 years now they brake super good after 3 years no noise's very little brake dust. I think it was one of the best mods id ever did to my car. Im going to this to my SI as soon as i get a chance to do it.
How long are they on back order? |

I just bought some hawk hps pads for my si. my question is during the initial break in time did you guys (those that have this pad) have more than stock brake dust production. i have only driven the car for a day and half or so and my wheels are getting a little dustier than normal. i'm hoping it goes down after the break in time. i know these pads are supposed to be good stuff but i may go w/ the hawk ceramics to cut back on the brake dust...

The rear HPS pads I installed in my mother's TL-S didn't fit properly either and wore on a bias. I'm not impressed. |
