I'm partial to TEIN suspensions but there are alot of great companies that are making parts for the car as we speak.I don't know about other stuff like sway bars, lower tie bars, control arms etc.... but there are alot of other members that can answer that stuff for you.Full coilovers(TIEN or other high end companies) will give you the ability to drop your car about that far, maybe more and you have the added bonus of being able to adjust the damping and spring preload.IF you read car mags then Sport Compact Car has been running an awesome series on suspension in the last few books..I learned alot from it.Hope this was helpful.

For a simpler and cheaper route I've heard great reveiws about the HFP kit for our cars although I don't think the drop is what you are looking for and there is no adjustability with them.Just another option for you to consider

What kind of track are you talking about? Diff. tracks require different kind of suspensions (Since you're going all out on it).

I've got the full HFP kit on my Si. Check my sig for link to pics. I love it. I drove a stock Si Saturday for the first time since getting my Si with the kit and the HFP package is def worth it.

Curves =/= Straight suspension setup. Coilovers is definitely the way to go low though. Ksport and TEIN are the best out there right now. Dunno if ZEAL or Silk Road will make one for the FA/FG/FD.

Not sure if you live in the Northeast would you want to go coil overs? They are pita to maintain during snow season.

I'm personally looking into the HFP suspension 1" drop is plenty for me but I don't see how it is cheap though.

I'm buying a house soon but still want to play with my car... hopefully.

Let me see if College Hills Honda has the HFP suspension for like.. umm $600.00 roughly? My local Honda dealer quoted me about $400 on the install.

That's a 1K set up there. I haven't heard a complaint with HFP.

Coil-overs I cannot recommend, as I'm not familiar with all of them.

The REAL handling results will come from a Progress rear sway-bar (combined with a set of Hotchkis rear endlinks). Roughly a $250 modification in itself and will have results that are out of this world. Anyone that has done this modification knows what I'm referring to. The handling of the car becomes absolutely fantastic.

A good coil-over setup combined with the sway-bar and endlinks will give you the results you are looking for.
