@ ppl with tein ss's

ok, i wanna get the tein ss's but right now the only thing stopping me is this "noise" ppl hear when turning and what not.

is this a problem with installation or with the coilovers them selves? is there anyone out there with the ss's and not having this problem? any info on this would be great.

I rarely get noise from the suspension. It is because they do not come with pillow ball upper mounts.

I've had them for 3 weeks, and there haven't been any noises. Except when I was going fast and turning hard, I hit a dip. I heard a noise like the spring was compressed a bit and released really fast. Haven't heard it since. I've been in that area trying to duplicate it and there was no sound. I really like them so far, no issues...

That seems to happend with most suspensions. Happened to me on the stock Si suspension, but no dip, a bump.

No, I dont think so. I think they are mainly for a race type suspension. So when you have it on a harder setting on the track, the pilliow ball mount allows a bit of adjustment when the car is leanning and pushing the wheel when turning.

I've had my Tein SS's since they were released pretty much. I've had various settings from softest to hardest and in between and have done some VERY spirited mountain/canyon runs with absolutely NO sounds from the suspension whatsoever.

Just my experience.

I have had my SS suspension for almost 3 months now and have never heard a peep from either front or back. I've had it at 2 dampening and 8 dampening and all has been good. I love it....definitely worth the cash IMHO. Great drop and nice ride for a lowered car. A whole lot more comfortable than the springs on my old GSR! I actually think they ride smoother with a stiffer setting than the softer.

But in a nutshell....no sounds at all from mine as of yet.

u don't hear the noises when driving under normal circumstances...

u usually only hear it when turning the wheel going real slow or when the car isn't moving...

if u don't hear a noise then that wonderful.... but that's usually when it does it.

no biggie though... just get the damn thing. lol...

PS: just bought some flexes at a really good price .... thanks to Z1 ...

I'm 90% sure my issue is related to not having that top nut screwed down enough. I'll be fixing it tomorrow and letting everyone know my results.

So I got my suspension fixed tonight and I must say that I'm very satisfied with it. It handles great without making the trip unbearable. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone

I actually did have a small problem today. It was raining out and I started to hear that clunking noise that I heard before. It only happens when it is wet outside. I guess that means I need to tighten it down some more, but I'm nervous of over-torquing it. Right now I have it about 5 rungs down from the end of where the flat spot on the threading is. Should it be down more?
