Got to start somewhere, right? As long has you have a metric socket set, a jack, jack stands, and a spring compressor, you got that.

Yes you need jack stands. NEVER use just a jack to hold up the car. You need at least 2 jack stands. You need to have the fronts up at the same time. If you don't, the suspension will not line up when you go to re install it because the roll bar will be pulling the knuckle to far away from the bottom of the strut. Same thing, but to a lesser extent on the rear.

I did mines myself with help. I was a noob too. Just DIY. it's easy. if you have the right tools then get after it. F*CK paying someone $200 plus for it.

edit: jack+ two jack stands. lift up fronts then back or other way around.

Just a 19mm, 17mm, 14mm and 12mm (IIRC, little drunk at the moment) socket with wrench, spring compressor, 2 jack stands, jack, offset wrench and allen wrench to take off front upper mount, beer. You CAN NOT do this with out the offset wrench to loosen the nut that holds the upper mount on. As far as jack stands go, our cars way a maximum of ~3000 lbs so you need stands that support at lest 1.5 tons. If you get lucky, like me, you can find a good set on sale. Got 4 3.5 ton stands for 32 bucks, Craftsman no less.
