Megan racing number 2.

figured i'd make a new thread to keep things separate from the last one.

ok some good news and some not so bad news...

first off let me just say that bottoming out has been eliminated... good news

so there was a 2 finger (the 2 closest to the thumb) or about 1.5" give or take a lil, gap between top of tire and fender on first install which was tuesday.

between tuesday and today(friday) i've had 18 lb rims in my car :) ...

Alignment...
1. i could not get past -1.3 camber in the back which is ok for me cuz that's factory spec... but for those looking for radical camber setting or track setting u may have a lil problem there... this lack of camber adjustment may be due to the fact that the car is just not low enuff??? that i can't prove or don't know for sure but i can tell u that when i had the softer springs(older 6kg ones) and the car was lower i was able to get -1.8 degrees and maybe even more.... so it appears that it's because the car is not as low as before camber adjustment is lacking...

after alignment
1. the negative camber did make it appear to be lower but it really wasn't.
could still fit 2 fingers under there.

2. put some more weight in the car, 4 rims and 2 passengers ... drove around for a bit to get some stuff done (see sneak peak thread in intro. and pics ) and then went home ... good news here i couldn't get the car to bottom out with that much weight... got home and removed everything then remeasured... good news is it did drop a lil bit... i could only get 1 finger with a lil space left between top of tire and fender...

so they did sag down just a bit...just a bit... so now there's about a finger gap rather than a 2 finger gap... good for me cuz now the back kinda....kinda... resembles the front and i won't have to go raise and realign the front to match the back...

so it's set it and leave it right now and u'll get a nice drop...
no tucking...there is no way it will settle enough for it to tuck...if it did then the spring will not be able to compress anymore...
so megan will have to provide shorter springs for u tucking fellas or even for those who just want a mm gap... it's all about choices right?

for me... i can now say that i am satisfied... i can imagine it will sag a tad...a tad bit more and give me a finger gap exactly or a lil bit less... which would equal my front setting... only a well trained eye can tell the difference right now... but it seems most Si owners are picky and have well trained eyes...

so this is the verdict.
as it sits this may not be a track worth suspension like it's advertised to be simply because u don't have too many options right now for ride height and alignment settings. The ride is good, not bumpy or anything..it's a nice comfortable ride overall. The current ride height or where it may settle to will not be everyone's cup of tea as it's a set it and leave it deal where the drop is concerned. For the guy who usually has passengers or some other weight in his car and not looking for a crazy drop then it's a good suspension for you and ofcoruse it's hard to beat the price....hands down...

i'll give it till wednesday and upgrade this thread regardless of if the results have changed or not.

i'm satisfied.

yeah, that seems about right because I remember reading threads on the rsx that they can't tuck the rear end with megan racing coilovers. Going install mine in about a week after i finish with finals, hope it drops as low as i want it to.
