Megan racing update..

so i got my new spring from Megan for the rear...

1. it's 8kg and no longer 6kg.
2. it's the length of the old springs + the height of the space...

now to the BS...

installing is easy...so i'm not going there...i installed them with the spacers which obviously was not the right thing to do... when i dropped the car down it was the height of a monster truck...

I called Megan up and they are telling me to leave it as is because it will settle.. there was a 3" gap between wheel and fender...there is no way this thing will settle 3" !!!! if it did the springs won't even have room to compress!! i'm trying to explain that to them but they won't hear... "oh i should just let it settle!!!" BS

anyway i decided to remove the spacer cuz it's the only way...
put the springs back on and the car is still tall!!! so ok it will sag a lil after a while ... but even after it sags a lil it will still be like a 2 finger gap...probably close to HFP height!!! With no way to make it go any lower as i already have it at the lowest setting!!! so what's the point??

so now the front of my car is lower than the back.
i have a set of lowering coilovers that do not lower the back much more than HFP with no room for improvement!!

it's clear that they knew the first set of springs were not tall enough hence the reason it had a spacer...the shorter old springs + spacer = height of new spring.

my advice to anyone planning to get this is do not...

yes it corrected the bottoming out issue in the back... but it's not useful as u can't lower the car anymore with the new spring...there's no room for adjustment all u can do is raise the damn thing... which is total BS...

it will work for those that don't want the car too low out back... but not for me...

i'm contemplating whether to raise the front of the car up to be equal to the back or if to just remove this thing and sell it for a set of tein flex...

on top of that to make things worse... the front has become squeaky as hell... that i expected because it's reported all over clubrsx that megans, buddy clubs and sometimes even the teins get sqeaky at which point u need to grease the spring seats and so on... so i can let that slide a lil...

a negative camber alignment in the back will make it look a bit lower than it really is so i'm looking fwd to the resluts of that so i can make my decision on whether to keep it or not..

i'll post pics after i slap on the new rims and get the aligmnent done..

needless to say i'm disappointed in the result of this...

cliff notes:
bottoming out issue fixed.
no room to lower the car anymore when the new springs are installed
hope for it to sag a bit and get a bit lower
it's almost equal to that of hfp height...
by the looks of it it seems that tein s-tech springs drop the damn car lower than the new megan coilover springs which is a shame...

this is first impression...
stay tuned for more info. in the next week...as i'll only be giving them a week to settle...if they don't then it's total BS!!

i'll be having people in my back seat the whole week so they should sag...

this is what i waited weeks for....

end of rant.

mine are comming in the mail sometime, "the updated springs that is", i alredy put the suspension back to stock, but if this fix helps it(the bottoming out) and it settles back down to a reasonable height, i will be more then happy to put them back on, keeps fingers crossed and eyes open for the update

the bottoming out is gone for sure....no doubt about that...
i stood inside my trunk and jumped up and down trying to get it to bottom out...it took it like a champ...

i couldn't do that on the last set...it would bottom out with ease...without much pressure at all...

so the bottoming out is fixed... only thing is the ride height.
