How Much To Drop Your Car?
Okay.. lets say I get the caimber kit for 250 and the springs for 200 expecting wherever I go wants more,, how much should I expect to pay for labor?
I was reading that you guys paid like 150 for the install? Is this typical? Can you guys post up some pics and break down pricing? Thanks guys :] I'm considering Tein S Tech Or Eibach Sportlines,, I'm leaning towards the Sportlines even though they do cost considerably less... Edit: I think I'm gonna go with the Tein S Techs which are 139 on ebay,, Last edited by JeShUa; 11-16-2006 at 12:03 PM. |

Tein S-Techs * 165 * ebay (kurumamotoring) SPC Camber Kit * 265 * www.corsportusa.com Labor.....did myself but when I was price shopping, I got prices from 160-350. I ended up renting a spring compressor for $11 and spending 5 hours changing them myself using the DIY on here |

Downsides are curbs, driveways, entrances........ Slightly stiffer ride with mine but better suspensions are adjustable and you always sacrifice something.... Better handling = stiff ride Worse handling = smooth ride |

Lowering a car does not always = better handling.
Suspension travel counts for alot. That being said a slightly lower ride height shouldn't excessively hurt handling characteristics. I lowered mine mainly for aestetics. I used the tein's stechs and spc camber kit on all 4 corners. I am really happy with the setup and would do it the exact same again if I had to. The install is really easy and there is not much to go wrong so definitely a diy. One thing I would like to mention though is that when I got my tein stechs the front left and right coils were mislabeled. The front left coil was marked with a R on the coil and the right was marked with a L. I called tein and they confirmed the mislableling. You need to pay attention to the coil rotation of the oem coils and keep the new coils rotating the same way for the coil to sit in the perches properly. shawn |

hey jeshua that 139 springs on ebay I just won it yesterday. You can offer 130 and hell accept. I asked for 120 and he denied. So figure you pay 130 for the springs shipped, then the shops around your area should do it for about 150. And about the camber kits I wouldnt be able to tell you because Im not buying them as of Yet

READ THIS CONCERNING EBAY TEIN S TECH!
(especially the cheaper ones) Taken from Tein website... I'm sure they wouldn't mind me taking this from their site to prevent death or injury. WARNING!!: COUNTERFEIT S.TECH Recently, We have confirmed that some of the eBay stores are guilty of selling COUNTERFEIT TEIN S.TECH springs. To assure authenticity of any TEIN product, PLEASE make your purchases only through a TEIN Authorized Dealer. To locate a TEIN Authorized Dealer near you, please click HERE TEIN would like to inform you of the differences between the COUNTERFEIT TEIN S.TECH springs and the Authentic S.TECH. Difficult-to-tell counterfeit S.tech springs are being heavily marketed. Such replicas may be of bad quality and extremely dangerous • NO precise lowering spec. • Unknown quality, which may lead to sagging, rust, cracking and noise issues • Unknown Engineering Data • Extremely dangerous and can lead to suspension failure We are now in the process of taking legal matters in effort to resolve this issue. We are committed to keep the general public informed as information becomes available. TEIN S.Tech Springs- Authentic Vs Counterfeit Point 1: Outer Box - Prints ![]() * Letters 'STYLISH SPEC' on fake one are thinner and darker in color than genuine one. Point 2: Outer Box - Product Label ![]() ![]() * Fake label is bigger than the frame printed on the box thus is going over the line. * Fonts used on the label is thinner and the print is light. Point 3: Protuct - Part & Lot Number ![]() ![]() * Genuine S.Tech has both part number and lot number printed parallel to the coil itself, while fake one has them parallel to the ground (meaning at an angle to the coil). * Also, the fake one has bolder letters. Point 5: ![]() * Different designs illustrate a difference in engineering data; therefore, the products quality specs and MOST IMPORTANT your SAFETY is left unknown. |
