brake - heads up.

1. check ur master cylinder
2. look for where the lines are coming off the master cylinder.
3. trace them .... what do u notice? ...

they are routed to the back of the exhaust manifold(stock header)/race header/turbo manifold on their way to the ABS pump. This is not good.

Why?
because they are subjected to heat from the exhaust manifold. That heat is not good as it heats up the lines thus heating up the brake fluid. The brake fluid will then expand thus reducing your braking power = brake fade.

i've heard countless owners complain about it...just so happens my dealer knew about it too as well as another dealer.

it's not soo bad where it's dangerous but for the guy who pushes his car a lot and knows about this stuff and brake feel it will be a big deal...obviously the harder u drive the more heat you produce, the quicker u'll experience fade.

you can
1. change ur brake fluid to one that can handle higher temps. etc...my choice was motul rbf 600
2. heat wrap your lines
3. reroute the lines some how
4. just deal with it as it's not a big deal.

hard braking will cause brake fade too...but that's cuz ur pads are weaker and ur rotors are small, so on and so forth...that's known...i was just pointing out this slight issue.

it can be a combination of both...

makes me wonder if that's the reason Car and Driver experienced brake fade quickly in their test...and so did SCC in their review and another Mag. also said they lost breaking quickly and it felt mushy...

anyway...just pointing this out to u guys...

Um...I think you're always supposed to put it in gear anyway.

nice find...

i don't do enough hard brakings to justify the fix but sooner or later, down the road i'm probbaly gonna get nicer pads and steel lines to get the spongy feeling away

the ex/lx will not be affected as the exhaust is in the front and the SI is in the rear thus the heat...

Ron just Finished his testing on them and they will be ready to go. Pricing will be released towards the end of the week. nn thnaks for all the support on our R&D

Edit: just saw ur rep comment...disregard the latter...good choice...thanks for the rep.

the bigger brake kit will help somewhat...
but u'll still be having heated fluid in ur lines...
u may want to upgrade ur fluid at the very least to go along with your BBK
