quick spring install question

i just installed some skunk2 springs and on the front shocks, there is an arrow on the top of the upper perch that mounts to the chasis, and im not sure which way its supposed to point. Any idea guys?

Dave, IIRC, make sure it is pointing to the Engine/ Front.

and correct me if i wrong but if you bolt the top hat into the car it will face that way eityher way

good cuz thats how it did it...but now im getting a noise from the front...i un-istalled and re-installed them this morning to make sure all was tight and im still having this noise, its driving me nuts! Any ideas?

its like a loud clicking like noise...only happens when i go over a bump, not a dip in the road

Sounds like something is loose. Did you tighten the three upper nuts when all load was on the suspension? The single tophat nut is fully tight, but not over tight? 2 Bolts on the lower macpherson assembly tight?

Should be fine then.

Just to clarify, on the 3 bolts on the top, did you make sure you did the final torque when everything was off the jack stands/ lift?

I also have a clicking noise going over bumps or dips. I was told it is the coils tapping against each other.

I have had that same problem in the past ad it was either the top hat nut or the sway bar endlink loose. Except the last time with my my current car (08 Si) where it was the nut that goes into the bottom of the Koni insert that was loose. This drove me nuts looking for it as I'm just not used to having a bolt in that location and I never checked it because I'm sure I tightened it with loctite.
