Wonder what else I can do to suspension to make it handle better

Have a little extra money in the pocket. I have Pro S coilover, lowest setting. progress rear sway bar(just installed last night). I was reading about rear tie bar but most likely its just for show and chasis stifness even though our chasis are very stiff already. What else I can do to it to make it even less bodyroll and understeer?

No money for tires right now. My michelin tires for stock type s are still in good shape.
I heard braces and bars have no significant difference in performance.(except sway bars which i already have)

Sadly, better coils.

Skunk2 Pro S are more about drop than performance.

Skunk2 Pro C's or BC N+ are the standard performance coilover around here.

Also, tires are your BIGGEST way to improve handling. Stock type-s tires will be very limiting on how great your handling will be.

RCA's if they make them for the Civic Si.

Other than that, better tires, and a professional alignment at a shop that knows about REAL handling (IE, they have a shop track car or something similar) will be your best performance enhancers.

Whore-Hey
+1 on tires. Be patient, save a little more and that'll be the most impressive purchase imo. If you really can't, rca's or bushings.

Raise the car up, get better tires, and an alignment. Don't waste your money on control arms, your not going to notice a difference.

there is aftermarket RCAs for R18? Once my tires are bald, I will upgrade the rims and tires together to something 18"

If there are RCA's for the Si, they should fit the LX/DX models. This would allow you to be low, but get your roll center to where it should be, which will improve handling.

RPM_FURY!!
Just get summer tires and a rear sway bar it will make a big difference but you will need a god set of coils at some point and rear camber kit either BC n + or skunk2 pro c..

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO - $89 each at tirerack.com (last I looked).

Decent alignment by someplace that knows how.

Yeah the tough part is finding a place to do a correct alignment. Once the spring hits im going to get either a nice set of brigestone, yokohoma, or dunlop starspecs and find someplace to can really dial in my suspension. Other than that like everyone else has mentioned a nice set of coils( i have koni yellow and eibach) and bracing if you want a stiffer chassis which i will be installing. Neuspeed x brace, carbing strut tower bar, beaks lower tie bar. These will help the suspension do its job better and control chassis flex.

They are aparantly the best tires in the catagory by a longshot. I did extensive searching before I bought them and I havent found a tire that comes near it for $150 or less.

And no it isnt an all season. I would NEVER run all season tires. They are dreadful in the snow, which is the only reason you get an allseason over a summer tire.

I have ALWAYS ran dedicated winter tires.

This year:

Ventus V12 224/15/17: Summer
Michelin Xice Xi2's 215/45/17: Winter.

to the OP - you say youre at the lowest possible setting ....... but what camber are you running ? you also dont mention camber adjusters i.e. Ingalls bolts , S2 / SBC rear adjusters etc etc . do you have these ? - / + camber adjustments will make a huge difference in how your car handles ( understeer / oversteer )

the car is likely too low and youre below optimal ride height for correctly functioning suspension geometry - lift it a bit youll be surprised how much better it handles or go the control arm route if you are adamant about not raising the car -

you say " less " bodyroll .... that doesnt necessarily equate to a faster lap time if thats your goal - if you simply want a flat handling car and arent worried if it actually is a bit slower around corners because of it then /shrug - I scrapped my Si front sway bar for an LX unit ...... it " rolls " more but its actually faster around a course ( other 8th members have had similar results its not just me )

Tires - for the price the dunlop star specs cant be beat ( although ill admit i havent driven the ventus ) - theres a couple of better sets out there but theyre more dough - ( Tirerack is way cheap )

^^ As far as bracing helping the suspension do its job better ...... meh ... I guess yeah - I have bracing and I noticed the car felt much stiffer and less " variable " but it didnt equate to faster lap times . It did however raise my confidence level in the car which made it more enjoyable to drive so the net result was worth it -

As far as upgrading the coils ...... yeah youd notice a difference but you gotta ask yourself if its really worth it . what are you wanting to do with the car ?

Dunlop Star Specs cost $127 in that size and will grip better than the V12.
