DO NOT CUT OR HEAT YOUR SPRINGS TO LOWER YOUR RIDE.
I REPEAT: DO NOT CUT OR HEAT YOUR SPRINGS TO LOWER YOUR RIDE. Do some research and you'll find a much better solution that fits your needs and budget. |

by cutting your springs all that will happen is your suspension will have less room for the suspension to absorb bumps. If your springs are shorter they need to be firmer as well or else everytime you go over a speed bump or hit a pot hole your car will bottom out. heating your springs can adjust the spring rate but it is very unpredictable, if you cool them to slowly the spring rate will be softer and you will bottom out just from the weight of the car and if you cool them to quick then the spring rate will be higher and it will crack

^^^ You should really know what you're talking about before you go off on it.
Cut springs makes them shorter and lowers your car, of course, but it also increases the spring rate. This is relatively safe, as long as you keep the spring cool as you cut it. Compressing and heating springs is dangerous, one because you don't know the heating as been uniform and it destroys any heat treatment, and two because they're still the same rate, allowing the car to bottom out frequently. But all this is mute because of course asianskater was obviously joking! |
