Broken Rear Shock Cover

I got a set of Si shocks today and one of the rear's plastic cover is broken off leaving the bumpstop and most of the rod exposed, I have lx shocks on my car now, I figured I could just steal the covers from there, but I have no clue how to get this thing off.. A little guidance please. Thanks

You need to drill the dimple out on the collar on the top of the damper to remove the dust cover and bump stop.

ok thanks, and as far as putting everything back together, is the dimple important?

Also make sure you don't drill into the shaft.

I did the same to my stock dampers when I installed my KONIs. KONI provided new collars though for the assembly.

I believe Eibach provides the collars with their springs.

The dimple keeps the dust cover from coming off when out of the vehicle. You can try to reuse if you like, or hit up a hardware store and see what they have available.

Thanks for all of the info. Just so everyone knows, The covers are shorter on the LX suspension (and presumably on the EX also) than they are on the Si, however, they still cover the the whole rod and give about a half inch of overlap. Gettin them off of the LX struts is a PITA because the way the dimples are it is very hard to slide off after drilling. I ended up using about a 3' crowbar to work them off.
