Ultimate alignment for daily drivers?

To all the suspension experts, what is the ultimate alignment for a daily driven si? The settings need to account for tire wear and stability. Nothing that will get the car out of line and twitchy when it rains. I'm looking for a win win set up that will handle better and maybe even help with my tire wears since I tend to push it often in the corners.

a simple -1.25f and -.5 rear i would say. Very mild and will have a slight increase in performance.

-1.25 sounds like a good balance up front but -.5 is less then the stock setting of -1. That would be less overall grip out back.

Also I will have HFP on my sedan with no rear camber for my set up so -1 is my only option.

er, i thought rear was stock at 0. If its stock at -1 then i would say stick to that.

There is no such thing as an alignment that will both increase corner grip and decrease tire wear. At least not that I've ever heard of. Stock is supposed to give you a good balance of both.

Stock is 0 and -1 indeed. If you like doing canyon runs a lot or enjoy taking some quick corners going all the way to -2 up front wont be SO bad for your tire wear. The tire won't wear out faster, just uneven. Unless you DO take a lot of curves, then you will be wearing them a bit more even since you'd be planting the whole tyre on the ground evenly on a fast corner.

I ran -2 and -1.4 on my Fit with Pro-C coilovers and my Toyo T1R's wore pretty evenly. I just rotated front to back every 3k miles. Usual lifespan for T1R's was about 20k miles with that alignment and rather hard driving. 100 of those miles where on a track day being REAL mean to them on a road course (when they were new).

What WILL chew up your tires in a heartbeat is having your toe settings at anything but 0. Sure, our FWD cars would benefit quite a bit at the track from running -0.15 degrees up frong and +0.10 degrees out back but on the street that would 1, chew your tires REAL FAST and 2, would make the car feel unstable while cruising on a regular highway.

So just keep the back how it is and do anything between -1.25 and -2 on the front, make sure toe settings are properly set at 0 front and rear and don't forget to rotate your tires ever now and then.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the benefit of running this negative camber is bidding farewell to understeer unless your being stupid and entering way to fast into a corner. The Fit I had quite literally tucked its ass out a tad, man I miss that track rat!

The used FG2 I bought only has Eibach Pro Kit's, it feels like a BOAT compared to my GD3.

FYI the factory specs for camber are 0 front -1 rear and for toe 0 front - 2 rear.

dz ss and s drives are in far different classes. dz ss will grip forever unless you drive stupid on them and almost purposely make them brake loose.

This is just word of mouth i'm using however, and noticing the dz ss to be numerous all over the track compared to any other street tire. ( never saw s drives at the track btw ). As for camber, i always did a -1.5ish f and -1 r up until recently and never had camber wear. Now i'm at -2 and -1.5 but thinking of going more then that =]

I want to get the H&R sport springs for my FA5, so I'll need camber bolts for the front to make it -1.25, but will I need rear camber arm if I want to have -1 in the back just like stock, or can I get that with an alignment?

If you push it in the corners often, some negative camber up front will actually help even out tire wear, instead of you chewing up the outside lip all the time.

Other than that, zero toe and minimal camber in the rear is a good formula for DD.
