Carbotech AX6 - Mountain Rotor OEM small review
So I just upgraded pads and rotors on my LX with stock drums. I was originally going to get Brembo Blank OEM Replacement. The shop that I was ordering the rotors from told me Brembo had them on back order and recommended Mountain rotors which he prefers over Brembo for the same price. Never even heard of them until that moment but I trusted him.
I got Carbotech AX6 Pads which are track pads basically they do make quite a bit of noise I can't really tell the brake dust since it has been raining and I have steelies. So far since driving my car I do stop on a dime but that is when warmed up these pads suck cold and will take a little bit of warming up before they reach their full potential. I have not taken them to track yet due to rain but I have done one mountain run and they did great I felt like I was able to push my car a little bit harder compared to stock brakes. I had a friend drive my car for a bit and he was amazed at how much more stopping power I had. Overall I like the pads and rotors although they do make a lot of noise and will most likely dust a lot I can deal with the noise and don't even notice unless window is rolled down. The brake dust wont phase me cause I personally won't care about it. If you are looking for good pads and not worried about noise these are definitely the way to go. They are better then HPS I haven't been able to compare them to the HP+ but they might be very similar stopping power wise. |
