CUSCO 3-points Front Strut Bar **56K NOT FRIENDLY**

Hi well
first, thanks to Jonathan(Z1perforrmance) that chose me for check the fitment of this bar in the Non-Si
well
here are some pics

the install was pretty easy, i dont need to remove the whole black plastic part that is just avobe the windsheld like whit the CARBING one...
i just need a lil work with my hands and fingers to make it fit in the strut cover space, then you need to have some tools:
1.- ratch

2.- 14 mm socket

3- i dont know what is this but its an adapter for the ratch for those difficult acces parts

4.- ratch extension

5.- allen key # 8

6.- i dont know how to call this "Stillen"?

7.- flat and cross screw drivers

8.- 17 mm socket

i first put the strut bases, was the "difficult part" then i put the bracket that goes upper the radiator, it fit 2 holes that came in that part, you just need to install the adapters that comes whit the bar, the i put the bar and screws that goes from adapter to bar to strut base, its not much room to play when you are screwing the bar in the strut bases.... you have to be carefull to dont trow or lose something
then whit the allen key you "lock" one side and whit the tool #6 on my list you need to tight the nut

well.... then the test...
notice that i have TEIN SS springs and PROGRESS rear sway bar, so before install the CUSCO bar... i felt the car whit some understeer so when i install and go and test it.... wow! it make a world of difference!
the car take curves better than me walking!
the handling has improoved a lot!!!
i love this bar

now i dont know if to buy some underbrace.... the front Si sway bar... or leave it like it is right now....

but man! thats one of my best mods...

i dont know if the use of the radiator for a support is a good idea since is a weak place... but i check it everyday and seems to be ok... no dents or something

hope CUSCO release this bar soon here in america

note: sorry for my bad english...

thanks to Z1performance

The Cusco bar will only fit civics with R18 engines. Cannot fit Civics with K20 engines, including the Si. Although the mounting points are the same for Civics with K20 engine, the bar will touch the engine at some areas due to insufficient clearance.

^about that, could you just remove the valve cover, or some cheap plastic thing to get it to fit or will it straight out not fit no matter what you do?

The bar will not fit the SI - plain and simple. I test fit the first one in the US months ago and the 3 point mounting plate interfered with the intake manifold on the SI. There really isn't anything you can do about it...

It's not surprising though - the Cusco 3 point bar was intended for the JDM Civics that share the R18 engine as I understand it. We have confirmed fitment on US R18 Civics and the bars will be available in a couple of days :) We have 5 coming in...
