Cusco 3-point strut brace

You all asked, and Z1 delivered again for the 8thcivic community :)

It is confirmed - the cusco 3-point front strut brace DOES fit an R18 equipped 06-07 Civic.

Sorry SI owners - this sweet little piece is just for the coupe and sedan owners. This bar doesn't even come close to fitting the SI since the 3 point mounting bracket doesn't clear our trick intake manifold (I personally held the bar and test-fit...not even close). I know - as an SI owner I'm jealous of the coupe/sedan crowd too hehe

What these pics don't show is the Cusco logo engraved in the bar - a nice refined touch.

Cusco's pictures:

I will post pictures tomorrow of the bar installed on a customer's car (an 8thcivic member). This lucky owner has the only one of these in the US...

We will announce pricing and begin taking orders next week when Cusco returns from SEMA (they are closed all week). They will have to order more from Japan so I'm thinking about another group buy

I would too - it's a gorgeous bar and it looks like it'd be MUCH more functional than the Carbing piece currently out (and much less expensive too, wink wink) :)

We're the #1 volume Cusco dealer in the US for the 3rd year running so we got the bar first, and having our own 06 SI for test fitting didn't hurt! Thankfully, an 8thcivic member test-fit for us - I love this place!

If you take apart the wiper cowl and really look at the strut towers and the area between them, you'll see that it's pretty well re-enforced. Cusco took it the other way and triangulated to the rad support for improved rigidity.

A standard strut bar for the FG (ala carbing) is more for form than function since the surrounding area doesn't look prone to flex. This cusco piece looks like it tops the standard bar design on both accounts...

Looking at the holes, I'm guessing it's full bolt on? Also can the plastic pieces that cover the strut bolts go back over the cusco bar perfectly?

I see no reason why it wouldn't fit a CAI equipped car. I will announce final pricing and availability times next week when Cusco returns from SEMA. It will be under $200.00 - We may do a group buy for even better pricing for you all.

What exactly does the install entail? Drilling? Cutting?

Just curious, you said that it would not clear the air box on the Si, but what if we installed a SRI, would that change the clearances so that this could fit?

No. I said it wouldn't clear the intake manifold. The air box on the SI and coupe/sedan are the same I beleive.
