NEED HELP!!! HFP VS. Eibach Pro-Kit
Can anybody help me out please. I'm a little ignorant when it come to suspension and lowering.
A) If the Eibach Pro-Kit lowers a CIVIC EX about one inch and the HFP lowers the same car about one inch, wouldn't it be a smarter move to buy the HFP and stay under warrenty. (Plus, I heard you don't have to buy camber kits for the HFP......Is that true?) B) Why do some people think the HFP drop isn't significant but will look that the pro-kit and think it's a good drop. Help me out here, haha. Thanx |

I thought the HFP was a .75" drop while the prokit was a 1.2" drop. That's almost a half inch... and to some, that can be a whole lot. hehehe

I recall HFP lowering by 1". Prokit lowers 1" in front 1.2" in back. I've been hearing that HFP is a stiffer ride than Prokit, but I've never tested them.
I have a box of the Pro-kit sitting in my closet, pondering whether I should install now or until after the warranty goes defunct. |

The HFP comes with new dampers (struts and shocks) which probably causes the stiffer ride. However, I've always heard that you should upgrade the shocks when putting on lowering springs because the stock shocks can't handle it. Type X was telling me that when he had his Comptech springs, his shocks were worn out from them. Koni will have shocks out sometime so you might could just go with the springs that give you the drop you want and pick them or another brand up when they come out.
I've got the HFP kit and I don't think it rides bad, but it can bounce you around some on very rough roads and railroad tracks.

ok sounds nuts to me "Will void my warrenty" what warrenty u speaking of ur old springs or struts... i guess the answer is ethier u have a good dealership that will fix any warrenty issues with ur civic or u have a bad dealer "that sucs if u do"...
they might see coilovers on ur ride, but i would think they would over look springs only.. i had new pads replaced on my civic uunder warrenty.. i think i got dirt in them when i installed the pro-kit lol.. they fixed it no problem.. "np we will order new pads since they r so new and fix u up sir".. end of story.. oh ps.. it was making noise when braking here and there after the install.. so on a side note when installing springs keep ur brakes clean free of dirt or dust.. |

now, you may want to consider a spring/shock combo or full coilover rather than running on lowering spring alone. reason is the stock shock is not up to the task if you pair w/ progressive spring. you'll have a blown suspension almost immediately. save the money and go with the one that lasts. hope this helps and goodluck. HFP kit with struts and springs altogether lower it .8 inches. With Eibachs lowering it around 1.2..it maybe on the verge of getting cambers..but since its a bit mild..it may not be needed. HFP does not need cambers. It retains the Honda warranty so whatever happens..you can always take it back to the dealership. Eibachs on the otherhand have their own warranty too..but if something was to go wrong with them..you may have to take them out..and ship them back.
