NEED HELP!!! HFP VS. Eibach Pro-Kit

Can anybody help me out please. I'm a little ignorant when it come to suspension and lowering.

A) If the Eibach Pro-Kit lowers a CIVIC EX about one inch and the HFP lowers the same car about one inch, wouldn't it be a smarter move to buy the HFP and stay under warrenty.

(Plus, I heard you don't have to buy camber kits for the HFP......Is that true?)

B) Why do some people think the HFP drop isn't significant but will look that the pro-kit and think it's a good drop. Help me out here, haha.

Thanx

I thought the HFP was a .75" drop while the prokit was a 1.2" drop. That's almost a half inch... and to some, that can be a whole lot. hehehe

do want the option of adjusting your height when ever you feel like it or just a lil drop. i highly recommend you should get a coilover kit. I love my Tein-SS

anythng you do to the car would void the warranty. But if you bring the car in the service department. If you let them install your parts in your car sometime they would cover it and sometime they won't cover it depending on what kind of parts.

This is my question, which are the best springs: tein, eibach or Progress and i dont want to have to buy the camber kit so whats the lowest I can go without having to spent a nut to keep my tires vertical.

Really?! That's crazy. So if I wanted to put on a Universal Muffler on or something, that would void it as well. Oh heck no, that sux. So anything that changes the performance willl in fact void the warrenty right?

I recall HFP lowering by 1". Prokit lowers 1" in front 1.2" in back. I've been hearing that HFP is a stiffer ride than Prokit, but I've never tested them.

I have a box of the Pro-kit sitting in my closet, pondering whether I should install now or until after the warranty goes defunct.

The HFP comes with new dampers (struts and shocks) which probably causes the stiffer ride. However, I've always heard that you should upgrade the shocks when putting on lowering springs because the stock shocks can't handle it. Type X was telling me that when he had his Comptech springs, his shocks were worn out from them. Koni will have shocks out sometime so you might could just go with the springs that give you the drop you want and pick them or another brand up when they come out.

I've got the HFP kit and I don't think it rides bad, but it can bounce you around some on very rough roads and railroad tracks.

Does it ride at all similar to stock? How do you like the drop. I have 18" wheels and i would just like to lower it to fill that gap and make it lower

ok sounds nuts to me "Will void my warrenty" what warrenty u speaking of ur old springs or struts... i guess the answer is ethier u have a good dealership that will fix any warrenty issues with ur civic or u have a bad dealer "that sucs if u do"...

they might see coilovers on ur ride, but i would think they would over look springs only.. i had new pads replaced on my civic uunder warrenty.. i think i got dirt in them when i installed the pro-kit lol.. they fixed it no problem.. "np we will order new pads since they r so new and fix u up sir".. end of story.. oh ps.. it was making noise when braking here and there after the install.. so on a side note when installing springs keep ur brakes clean free of dirt or dust..

Thanx for the tip. The warrenty I was talking about was on the civic. I think my dad told me to the 7 year warrenty is I'm not mistaken. I thought the same thing tho, they would over look it. Well, I guess liek u said, it depends.

So ur brakes squeaked after the install? Weird. Thanx for the info

I had the Prokit on my 2000 Prelude and loved it. Then before that I had the Eibach Sportlines on my 94' Civic.

Can't go wrong with Eibach. I love em! I'll tell you what i think beginning of november when i have them installed. i'm sure i will tell you the same thing then.

:)

first up, it's against the law to void warranty just because you're upgrading your ride. they will have to prove that the aftermarket is the one causing the problem. even if they prove it, you can go and call the manufacturer of the aftermarket and tell them that the parts failed. you're not gonna pay a single cent on this.. trust me. its either the manufacturer or honda. if they try to bully you, just mentioned better business bureau and lawyer at the same sentence and watch their reaction.

now, you may want to consider a spring/shock combo or full coilover rather than running on lowering spring alone. reason is the stock shock is not up to the task if you pair w/ progressive spring. you'll have a blown suspension almost immediately.
save the money and go with the one that lasts.

hope this helps and goodluck.

Its a good idea to replace new springs with shocks designed for the drop and spring rate your are looking for.

HFP kit with struts and springs altogether lower it .8 inches. With Eibachs lowering it around 1.2..it maybe on the verge of getting cambers..but since its a bit mild..it may not be needed. HFP does not need cambers. It retains the Honda warranty so whatever happens..you can always take it back to the dealership. Eibachs on the otherhand have their own warranty too..but if something was to go wrong with them..you may have to take them out..and ship them back.

i have the hfp kit on my asm si. let me say this it is a tad stiffer than stock due mainly to the new struts and shocks that come with the kit. it does drop your ride about .75 inch or so. the eibach kit might ride a little better compared to the hfp because your are using them with stock struts/shocks. though over time the ride will stiffen up a bit more compared to the first time you install them. the hfp kit will def close your fender gap plus you won't even need a camber kit with becuase you will have less than one inch drop...
