Correct - there is no adjustment for dampening, just ride height. However, this extremely affordable coilover is perfect for daily drivers who occasionally autocross/track their cars and are built with all the quality that Tein is famous for.

We have them available as well :)

Im guessing that the dampening would make for a more comfortable ride? I know the Megan coilover have dampening and run for about $900 or so.

A common misconception that more is always better :) For a daily driver, all that adjustment means very little. Much of the ride comfort will be dictated by the spring rates on the coilover and the valving of the shock. The Tein Basics rates are:

Front: 340 lbs
Rear: 390 lbs

These rates are in between Tein's Stech springs (230F, 270R) and Teins serious Flex Coilover (500F, 560R) which will make for a sporting, yet comfortable ride. The Megan coilover spring rates are even stiffer than Tein's Flex system...

The Basic's are designed as a street type coilover, with US roads in mind (bumps, expanion joints, etc.)

I hear what you are saying ZI but IMO I would spend the extra and get the TEIN SS. I am currently running the TEIN SS setup almost maxed out drop with SPC rear camber arms and the ride is fantansic. Unless you hit a huge bump or pothole you can't even tell the car is lowered. I doubt that fact that with the basics you are gonna be able to drop you car as low as mine and have the same ride as the SS just because of spring rates. Like I said I would kick out the extra couple hundred and get the SS. If you don't want to adjust all of that stuff then just get springs. Also be careful with Ebay. Yeah lots of people have no problems with buying there, but when you do your kinda screwed. Just my .02 cents. Good luck

The SS and the basics have the exact same spring rates. The dampers however are 16 way adjustable (compression and rebound together) and the entire system is EDFC compatbile. They do not come with pillowball mounts either - in my opinion, for a daily car, the SS is not worth the additional cost over the basics but there is no doubt they are a great choice!
