ok, I have my strut out and I can't for the life of me get that nut off the top. If I use an allenwrench I can't get a box wrench in there and if I use a socket I can't use the allenwrench....help...my car is in pieces!

are you doing this by yourself and if the strut off the car i recommend having a friend around to hold the bottom strut while you using the box wrench. The way i did it i left the strut on the car first and using a 3/8 impact to take off that lil nut, then i took the strut down.

If I had an impact I'd be set. I got it so it will turn but the whole strut shaft turns with it. I really can't even squeeze a box wrench in that opening. I barely have enough for the socket

yea if you have a air compressor machine around it be helpful. but from what i see from the pics lube it up with wd-40 let it sit ( minute) and have a friend holding the bottom end of the strut use the socket and do it fast.

I was reading about maybe holding the shaft with pliers. I'm scared I'll gouge up the shaft. For the other side, should I try to break it loose before removing it from the car?

use a impact with a 3/8 adaptor on it and it should work. and you should have a friend to hold the bottom end with foot.. so basically have the strut on the floor one friend put his weight on the foot so it won't turn while you use a impact trying to pry it out. BECAREFUL the compress spring will try to force itslef out. while you feel the nut is coming loose stop and look how far it came out.

I got the front done. Too dark to do the rear tonight. Those should be easier by the looks of it. Thanks for the help. These look sweet. I can't wait until they settle a little bit

What about bumpstops? Do I need to cut them?

the best way of doing so is with air tools....i do it everyday since imma honda tech...quickest way is to lay the strut against a wall so u dont hurt urself or anyone else...and put an impact gun on n zap the nut off

the rear is gonna be easy but you will need need to compress the rear spring to pry it out, if you talking about the rubber cone for the rear you will need it. bumpstop? pics.

You need to cut the bump stops in half
