ate super blue brake fluid

i just received my hawk hps pads in the mail and im ordering russell ss brake lines next week so to finish it, i need to switch brake fluids and ate super blue came to mind.

http://www.raceshopper.com/ate_brake_fluid.shtml

could someone provide me information on:
-bleeding the brakes and replacing the fluid
-how many liters the system takes?
-what kind of equipment do i need?

i want to use ate super blue because its a good high performing fluid without the need for frequent changes.

thank you

eugene

Valvoline Syntech DOT 4 is cheaper, easier to find and performs about as well. 1 liter or quart should be plenty.

ATE Super Blue is good stuff. I switch between the ATE and Motul RBF600 every time I flush. The different colors makes it easier to tell when you're into the new fluid.

For bleeding you need two people (or a vacuum bleed system...). One guy at the wheel opening the bleeder screw, the other pumping the brakes. If you've never done this before, or don't know when and when not to open the bleeder... get someone who has done this before to help you. You can really mess up your brakes if you don't do this right.

I don't remember the order you should be doing the corners in, check the service manual or do a search.

As far as equipment, you need a bottle and a hose to catch the old fluid, an wrench to open the bleed screw, and jack/stands/gun to get the car up in the air with the wheels off.

Because the car has ABS, you 'should' purge the ABS modulator. On some cars you can do this by removing the ABS fuse and putting it back in... not sure on the Civic. The dealer uses their HDS tablet to cycle each circut separately.

As far as capacity, ATE only comes in 1L steel cans from what I remember, that should be plenty. I've managed to get 3 bleeds from one bottle.

Be carefull, take your time, and make sure someone experienced is helping you.

Bleeding brakes can be a real chore.. This may help some..

http://www.motiveproducts.com/02bleeders.html I think that you are looking for one with the 1101 adapter kit, but confirm that please.

Please make sure that you don't let any fluid get on the paint. If you do - wipe it up immediately and then wash it off..

i used ATE for my vehicle and now that my g/f has one, I use ATE Super Blue on hers. To bleed the brakes is easy, just get a valve check on a hose so that when you pump the brake pedal, only air gets out of the line. After a few pushes, you're good to go.
