Brembo Brakes Front

So despite the price of these, what are your opinions? I only want to put the best of the best on my car and if paying the extra money is a rewuirement then thats what will be done. Let me know what you think of these imo they look pretty sick. Definitely goin with the drilled as well. Thanks for your help

Brembo brakes are great I have had them on quite a few of my cars. But I have found for brake upgrades Wilwood actually makes a superior product. They are also half of the price of the Brembo BBK ( big brake kit). If you arent going to be building a track monster you will want plain rotors not drilled. The drilled rotors actually hinder performance slightly because there is less braking surface. The only real benefit to a drilled rotor is cooling during extreme conditions. IE race track. The other draw back to a drilled rotor is that they are prone to warping and can explode if shocked. IE a glowing brake rotor and you drive into a huge puddle.

One very important things is to get steel brake lines. They increase the brake feel substantially and cost next to nothing.

Hope I have helped you out

Willow Wood? LOL

Are you talking about Wilwood?

You should buy the Rotora big brake kit that is being sold on this site by a user.

Sorry, its just after 5am here. Long night. yes Wilwood.
The Rotora kit is not as good as either the Brembo or Wilwood kit.
Less than sixty posts and I already look like a tool. Classy

Those Rotora setups aren't too bad really. What makes the Wilwoods so much better?

I tried 4 different BBK setups on my 750iL. 2 Brembo 1 BMW protection package and finally settled on the Wilwood kit. The 750 was not a light car. With only the power and chassis mods the car was terrifying to drive because it would rocket up to speed but I was relying on the stock brakes to slow down. And slowing down a 4400LB car from 160 MPH is no small feat. In all of the other kits mentioned I experienced warping, etching or just poor performance. After I put the Wilwood 13" kit on, the first time I slammed on the brakes I felt like I couldn't breathe. And to have 911 like braking power on a car that big is just downright impressive in my book.

i had the Stoptech BBK on my previous car, absolutely loved the balanced feel. what i didn't like was the quick wear-down and the bed-in process to seat the brakes (with each swap of the rotors/pads). to the OP: you know the slotted/drilled rotors aren't resurfaceable and needs to be changed much more frequently than the OEM rotors/pads? don't get me wrong, i'd do Stoptech all over again, but unless you're doing frequent track events, you could get awesome street performance from some Hawks/EBC pads!
btw, i've heard of AEM kits warping/poor performance. one of my friends has the Wilwood kit @ his EP/track car, and he can't say enough good stuff about it...Brembo's/Rotora's i don't have a clue-

So the wilwoods are a fan favorite huh? How about slotted for a dd/weekend racer? You think i can benefit at all from those besides my stock rots?

I don't know about in the US, but I know here in Japan, they can resurface drilled/slotted rotors.

good luck finding a shop that will do it for you...most will refuse (as i understand) due to the imperfections you'd get with the surface area as the costs to utlize new bits/re-gearing equipment is not amiable to doing the job? i went thru some 3 sets of (slotted) rotors for ~150k miles...

if you are doing it for looks get the wilwoods bbk, but if not save your money just get brembo blanks and get some decent brake pads.

I know i personally have owned axxis ultimate's on my previous cars and was not to bad. Just alot of brake dust.

Drilled = Waste of $$$, they dont disipate heat much faster, and I would be worried about cracking.

Slotted = better than drilled, but still unnecessary

Blanks = Where all the big boys play. Strong, thick, and overall GREAT setup.

Why do u need a BBK? If you are going for show... fine... if you are going for street, its a waste.

IMO: Brembo Blanks/Hawk HP+ Pads/SS Lines/Motul = more than enough braking for street and even autoX.
