Does the '09 Si sit higher than 06'-08' + lowering with softer ride?
Hello folks - first post.
I'm looking at trading in my '06 Si for an '09 Si, but I was looking at an '09 on the lot and it appeared to sit higher than my '06 (more wheel well gap). Has anyone else noticed this? This might be a dumb question and not be possible, but is there any combination of springs and struts that will allow the car to be lowered an inch or so, while actually making the ride softer than stock? I don't care about the handling, I just want the car to sit right and improve the ride if I can. Thanks for any help. |

The front ends seemed to be the same. Same boat here - as I did make a deal to trade in my '06 for an '09. I'd like to lower the new car slightly but don't want to spend all the money and hate the ride. If it's not worse than a stock Si, it's OK, but otherwise, not sure what to do to improve on the stock height problem. Could the increased height have something to do with VSA showing up on the '09s? FWIW, I test drove the '09 Si and it seemed like the revs dropped faster when pushing in the clutch; nicer to drive. The seats have better cloth in the center sections. The grille is ugly as hell - I hope somebody comes out with something half decent to improve that. Very happy to finally have a remote trunk release on the key fob! |

maybe cuz the suspension is a little more worn and gives a little.. kind of like a new set of springs being installed and giving it time to settle?
there was no difference in weight really and 1/2 finger gap increase is rather large. Honda would have said something if the suspension was altered in any way.. |

Yet when I saw the '09, I couldn't believe how much higher it looked. Hard to believe my suspension is sagging that much. |

this is what i got on my 2006 SI
ok so i have a 06 si and yes i do think the 07 and on have a lil higher stance but in the last 7,000 miles my rear has been eatin tires up on the inside like no other i have seen i checked it out looked under it and decided that yes the bushings and shocks are fairly harsh got to replace em i did a quik fix with a ingalls camber kit i needed anyways because i plan to lower it anyways my car has 55,000 ish miles on it, normally its 120k on MOST cars for shocks but hey gotta build em cheap what i recomend on these cars when this happens is just fix what honda cheaped out on get some poly bushings for all that apply get a good set of shocks and a good spring rubber the stock ones get lookin pretty bad.... hope this helps a little and VSA makes the car a lil hevier more like 100ish pounds thats why i traded my 07 back in for a 06 .... and yes i took it to a weigh station and did this honda might not say nothin about the weight but its not like they havnt lied about hp numbers in the 90's from year to year ....all companies do this its not a large enuf number to matter
