Question Drilled and/or slotted rotors?

Does anyone know if they make these yet? it's something that I thought of the other day that would be a simple upgrade.

Save your money, unless you want them for looks.

99% of street cars do NOT generate the kind of heat necessary to see an improvement in braking by using a slotted or drilled rotor. If anything, you are actually LOSING BRAKING EFFICIENCY because you have less surface area for the pad to work with. So again...

Save your money, unless you want them for looks.

THAT's where you may start seeing benefits... On road courses.

Even autocrossing doesn't warrant the purchase or use of those rotors.

You don't need cross drilled or alostted rotors for track days. Perfect example, look at the civic si race car that raced in the 24 hour thunderhill. As Anthony mentioned, crossdrilled and slotted reduce the maximum contact that the pads enjoy on the rotors. The brake system on the si is well ventilated, so all you really need is good race pads, high temp brake fluid and stainless steel brake lines.

Save your money.

I was looking more for a cosmetic upgrade than braking performance. I just like the appearance of the drilled and slotted rotors.

Well the slotted rotors are usually larger in diameter, thus countering the loss in surface area (plus slotted area is very small). Unless on a track, chances are you won't see brakes fade anyway. Bigger rotors are nice--the biggest downside is the increased weight from larger rotors, though.
