Just installed 18" HFP wheels...now my rotors and calipers look awful

Ugh, just like the title says...

My rotors are all rusted and the calipers look dingy. I know I can paint the calipers but what do I do about the rust on the rotors?

I am trying to keep to a more clean look. Thinking a silver for the calipers. Can you have calipers powder coated?

You can paint calipers any color. I've got red ones with a black HONDA decal but the place I got the paint from has like 15 different color options.

Only solution to the rusted rotors is replacing them. Do this before the rest starts sticking to your wheels.

How involved is the powder coating process?

Which is better powder coating or painting?

I think I am going to stick with Silver for the calipers but I can't decide on PC or Painting.?!?!?!?

Can you sand the rotors and paint them after they have already rusted?

remove the calipers and send them to be powdercoated.

powder coating is more durable then painting

yes. its only surface rust on the rotors.

powder coating def.. i was quoted $125 at a few palces per 17 inch rim.. so that being said i cant imagine it will be pricey for all 4 calibers

I read somewhere that you have to tear the complete calipers apart for powder coating. Is this true?

powder coating will last longer but you can always redo paint, or upgrade to an aftermarket caliper, imo black is the best color , doesnt show as much dust an grime as red an other colors..the rotor rust should clean up as you drive and if its the rust on the hats that your worried about then just get high temp paint and clean them well and paint them with a few coats and they will be good for a while..GL

are u sure they are rusted? or just bronzed a bit. use some simple green or some sort of good cleaner and it will help clean it up

Okay, my powder coater just called me back. He can do each caliper for $40.00 each. Unfortunately, It will have to be completely torn apart. ie: seals, pistons, etc. How involved is this process? The down time is not a problem because I do have a second vehicle.

Is there a caliper for sale out there that is already powder coated for around $200.00?
