Bushings, check those and check your bumpstops.

How bad is the clunking noise? I know all types of coils "creak" a bit, but nothing like "BANG BANG".

Yeah dude, if it vibrates your car it is NOT normal. Check your top hat bolts and make sure your bump stops are in place.. I forgot to put the rears in when I put mine on. Good luck.

lol +1.

I know coilovers creak and make some light noises, but it shouldn't be to the point where your car is vibrating because of it or loud enough for you to go "wtf hit me".

Like I said above, it could be the top hats. A buddy of mine had Tein basics on his FA5 and he had the same problem. His buddy that installed them thought he knew what he was doing and didnt tighten the top hats all the way.

sounds like the top hats up front arn't tightened. That'll lead to the spring being loose up front and make horrible noises. You're always going to have a minor amount of clunking in the rear of our cars due to the suspension setup with the spring by itself. The spring will get loose when theres no weight on it and make a clunk when it pops into place. And i guess check to top of the rear struts to make sure they were tightened down all the way.

Thanks guys

i will go through and make sure everything is tighten! i am hoping that is all i have to do. because when i first installed it and drove around it only had very very minor clunking but after 1 day it was clunking everywhere!

i live in cananda and Skunk2 doesnt have a 1-800 for support desk. i would really appreciate if someone in the states that doesnt get charged can call and as if clunking noise is common and maybe ask what possiblities could be causing this noise and then post it for me.

also how can you tell if a shock is blown?

thank you all for your feedback. ill keep you guys posted as 2morrow i will mostly have time to try 2 tighten everything.

In my opinion, when installing coils, you have to check and retighten bolts and check your work again. It's kinda like torque down lug nuts, you drive 50 to 70 miles then come back and retighten or make sure everything has tigthened right and retorqued. check your work again man.

Think of it as you thinking you tightened everyone up REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD and then you lower the car from the jack and back on the wheels and the weight of the car puts stress on the studs and pushes down to reveal even MORE thread for you to retighten.

The Pro S should not clunk when installed correctly. You most certainly should be using all 4 bumpstops as they are designed to prevent the dampeners from compressing further than they should. Removing the bumpstops can result in damage to the dampeners (as well as a voided warranty.)

I would recommend going through the installation again, paying particular attention to the upper mount assemblies.

Email BrianN@Skunk2.com and I will provide the most up to date version of the installation instructions for your review. If you would like to attach pictures I will be happy to try and troubleshoot your problem.

Skunk2 also runs an online HelpDesk through www.skunk2.com. Customers are welcome to post questions on that HelpDesk free of charge. We constantly check that HelpDesk so expect a response quickly.

When I installed my coils, I forgot to put the bump stomps from the stock shocks onto the new ones causing loud banging noises, I put them on and the banging stopped.

i looked at an excellent DIY on here and i noticed i never got the plastic washers.

if that is missing could that cause the clunking noise?
