Anyone used Beaks rear lower tie bars?
A local reseller has recently advised me of a deal on these bars for about $120 USD tax-in, shipped to my door.
Any experience using these bars? Currently, my 2007 Civic EX coupe is stock + a Progress 22mm rear sway bar and I run -2.0 camber in front / -1.5 in the back at auto-x. I can't say I need the car to rotate more, but it's a mod that I can do which won't change my auto-x class. Quote:

I've heard in the past, probably on this board, that the strut braces and tie bars are useless on our cars because of the already stiff frames compared to previous generations of Civics. Is this really true?
I don't wanna spend $120 USD on something unless I will benefit from it from a performance standpoint (at auto-x especially). |

All show, no go. Just look at it, their so called "superior" square tube design is mounted with thin brackets which are actually the stress bearing members. The brackets can't handle much load if there was any in the first place so it won't do anything for rigidity.

It doesn't make any difference at all, it's a 100% show piece.
People who say they feel a difference are wrong, plain and simple. Their brains are fooling them into thinking they really do feel a difference in order to help justify the purchase. Bossman wants one because they look cool, and that's fine, people spend $200+ on stuff for looks all the time. |

Braces for our cars are for people that
a. just want to brag about what parts they have and how much they spent. b. think that looks are more important than performance, which in turn makes them superficial. You can buy sticky tires for the price of 4-6 braces. c. have confidence issuses in either the size of their member or their driving ability |
