Size of spacer before having to run extended studs?

So this may have been covered indirectly in another thread, but I can't find a definitive answer. I want to run spacers on my car, I don't know what size to run and what width I can/can't run with stock/extended studs. This is what it looks like right now. I am pretty sure i can do at least a 5mm spacer without studs, but is that going to be noticeable at all?

BTW, the wheels are 18x7.5 +43 with a 225/40/18

Not the best pictures to show the current fitment, but you can still see they are sunken in just a little, especially the fronts once I swapped over to CTR fenders. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

My wheels are the same specs and offset im currently running 15mm spacers on the front Ichiba Version II with the studs built into the spacer. It kind of equalizes the front to the rears.

Thanks for the replies, do you think the 5mm will be noticeable though?

1/4 inch will work fine on OE stud, I have running OE stud with 1/4 for a while(Track one) still holding pretty good, but later I decide to change it to ARP extended stud, took me about an hour to put all the new stud on 4 wheels

Dustin, buy the project kics spacers which have the studs already built in..

However, i wouldn't run more than 5mm on the stock studs.

go big and get the 15mm ones for the rear and 20mm up front , and run about -2 camber all round.. **** would look SO hot

or buy new wheels - I believe Nasif ran 18x9.5+22 TE37's up front with the CTR fenders.

I am buying new wheels, right after I-A, but there is no point in changing out the studs for a temporary fix. Nasif's fenders are also pulled, AND he had to raise the car up. I am actually wanting to go lower...so 5mm for now, and new wheels in a couple of months

What wheels are those? They are beautiful.

If I may threadjack...

I want to run 235/18 tires, and was thinking of getting 8.5" wide rims.

Since I'm on HFP suspension, I shouldn't have any rubbing issues if I get a 43mm offset, and I would think they should look almost flush because of the extra width.

you want a 10mm, 5mm will only be noticible to you. longer studs comes with spacers, put in new studs and leave them in when you install new wheels, it won't hurt and give you the flexibility.

foDOfaSHO,

Nice wheels! I use ARP extended studs on my Si, then trim them down so I can still use the close ended Volk Racing lug nuts. I have 15mm spacers all around on 17 X 9s. I got H&R wheel spacers which comes with extended studs, so don't bother buying ARPs if you are getting H&Rs spacers. Here is the link to some pics of my car for your reference.

depends how you do it.. if you get the old ones out, you can just pull the new ones through after grinding down the head of the bolt a lil to clear the hub.

5mm you will regret man.. you can EASILY fit a 15mm up front. 10mm if you wanna play safe, but it'll still be sunken in. 5mm will be wasting your money, IMO.

Kics Wheel Spacer - 15mm / 12x1.5mm / 5 x 114.3: Evasive Motorsports | PH: 626.336.3400 Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm PST

or just buy the longer studs.. run some project kics open ended ( or any open ended) lug nuts and you'll be fine with any set of wheels that you choose.

I know what I CAN fit, but im trying to not have to replace studs. I know comparing what I have now, vs. what i used to have and the 10mm difference in fenders what i can and cant run. I am just asking what i can and cant run on stock studs.
