Ok when I purchased the car roughly 22 days ago. The car had a slight pull to the left if I have my steering wheel completely strait and my friend and I also notice it felt as if it gave some slight vibration when driving. I was waiting to go in for a check on the balance and alignment incase it was off spec when sold to me, when my perm. license plate gets in. Well it got in yesterday, I got my plates and today I went to get the check. They reblanaced the rims first off and then did a alignment. The sheet shows the front toe were a bit off so they put it into the green spec.
However, now when I drive it, it still feels as if pulling to the left if I have my steering wheels completely strait. It also feels maybe even a bit more... I recall that some people say that Honda's oem steering is suppose to be like that due to the rack and design? Is this true? because it is awkward to have the steering wheel turned a bit to the right "H" looks slanted in order to drive strait. Note* it has been roughly 1k on the way it was before then when I took it in today. They aligned and rebalanced but still feels a bit same, if not... a bit worse". (just thought I throw this in incase the tire wear can cause the same effect even if the toe is in spec. I do not feel like going back since its rouhgly 20miles where I bought the car to get it rechecked nor do I like to them to test drive it some more. I am planning to just run these stock tires out and when its time for new tires, get an alignment at a local shop I usually go (carx). I was just wondering if what I am getting is pretty much normal even for a pretty new car! I am not liking the fact that I can't have my steering wheel strait "H" and having to slightly fight the wheel itself because I think a new car shouldn't be like this...? Insight, reasoning and help? |

I plan to take it to where I usually had got my Integra aligned but right now I think I will just live with this since these tires are oe tires anyways. when it hits more to half way or mark of alignment time. I will go get it done.
and I agree... the alignment usually are all so broad, never really at its best and specific as it should be. some shops even abuse this power when a part is really bad but they just accomodate the specs so it seems to be ok. The best is to have it all closest to aero design specs, at least for the front 2 wheels. rear having a slight negative is an advantage and probably why most oem ff do it to sustain good handling for the rear. |
