Mine made a banging kind of noise when going over bumps when I first installed them. It ended up being the top ones, the ones in your pics. Try and get those as tight as possible. If everything is installed right and tight there should be no noises. When I get a chance i'll look at my top washer. GL

yeah im going to try... someone said something about using the stock bolts because you can get those tighter... which is what i attempted to do today but i accomplished nothing but damn near stripping one of them... i couldnt get the thing off... it just kept twisting the rubber gasket underneath as well as the entire damper setting bolt the nuts tighten onto... so i gave up since i didnt wanna break it... im gonna take it back to the shop that did mine and give them the stock bolts and tell them to replace and try to get as tight as possible... when i go over things like speedbumps i can def near a noise like something on the top isnt tight... i just dont wanna break it trying to get it tighter you know what i mean?
i cant imagine things not being installed correctly tho... suspension is suspension... not really rocket science... and these were professionals that installed mine, ppl who do this kind of work daily... so i dont know... im just gonna get it back in there next week... i wanna re-adjust the rear anyhow... im assuming thats where its at bro... because its not on top, and its def not underneath since i was just under there messing around no more than 20 mins ago... unless its just not on there with my car... but they gave me everything back after they were done... and those peices are def not there, but the stock ones are... so i think they go thru the middle of the gasket

i see the pics now. my washers on top both have the curled edges facing up. I still get the noise and clunking. There has to be a solution to this. I'm about to go back out right now and adjust it one more time.
Also, the long cylinder peice you guys are referring to goes in from the bottom and sits inside the rubber bushings where you bolt the shock into the trunk. hope that clears that up for you. |

yeah someone give me some insight... haha... my cyclinder things are both inside the rubber gasket or bushings if thats what you wanna call it... the only thing different between my right and left is how that washer is placed... left facing up and right facing down...
sm2s - let me know how it goes after the reinstall? trying to get some direction before i take it back into the shop... Last edited by trans9mp; 04-10-2009 at 03:16 PM. |

west... are you a member or miraclegarage.com? they have all the info there on how to adjust and set... if you are, log in and go to this URL... it has how to measure and adjust...
on the rear, you measure from the silver washer on top of the threads, to the locking bolt... Miracle Garage Forum - Index

yes i am a member on there now. i was just on there trying to get some feedback, lol! anyways that is how i have been measuring. i just wanted to make sure i was doing it correctly. what about on the actual spring perch? do you measure from the base of the perch to the top of the spring or to the top of the second locking perch that butts up to the perch that the spring sits against?
sorry that kinda sounds confusing. |
