Installed Tanabe Sustec Underbrace

I'm waiting for my Progress Rear Sway Bar to get here but in the mean time I went ahead and installed my Tanabe Sustec Underbrace. I took the car out for a spirited night drive and I can say that the front end definitely feels a little more firm on the road and there is noticeably less body roll. Here's a couple pics.

Nah.. took longer to jack the car up then it did to install the brace. The crappy part is it doesn't come with any instructions but I looked at a pic I had seen of it installed on fgcoupe and was able to find the bolts easy enough.

I have the brace and the progress rear sway bar, and all I can say is WOW. With both of them the car handles like its on Rails. The install is simple, but it does suck that there are no instructions. They do manage to include a warning that says if installed wrong you could die. Makes you feel real comfortable on your first drive after the install.

Honestly there isn't much to it. Jack the car up and make sure it is not going to come down on you. Check the picture out for placement of the brace. There are two large bolts right behind the front sway bar that you undo and then 2 12mm bolts on both sides of the car for the back of the brace. I used an impact wrench of the two larger bolts but I'm sure you could get them off easily enough with good muscle and a large enough breaker bar.

Unbolt the bolts, put the brace up, retorque the bolts. Simple as that.

I've been debating if I should install this on my car or not. You may have persuaded me larryd!

I believe you just use the existings bolts on the car.

I like it alot... easy suspension upgrades should be well worthy of purchasing.

All the bolts are already on the car, you just reuse them. For the price you really can't beat it. Personally I'm excited for my Progress Rear Sway bar to get here; it'll be here on Monday or Tuesday.

I'm not aware but I wouldn't imagine so.

BTW so people stop IMing and PMing me to ask. The place I got this from does not sell directly to the public so knowing where I got it or how much I paid won't help you. If you want one I suggest you get it at corsport as they have it available on their web site.

www.showstoppersusa.com has it for 165 with free shipping. Thats where I got mine plus other parts and have never had any problems. Oh and BTW I also have the Evo2 Exhaust and both the progress swar bar and tanabe brace will work with it. No clearance issues

I completely agree. I've had the combo on the car for over a few months, now, and it's still my 2 favorite parts on the car.

One thing to warn everyone about, though, is that if the car is lowered the underbrace WILL scrape on things. Mine doesn't clear speedbumps and the likes very well and has gotten scratched up pretty bad.

I've scraped over one speedbump so far. You have to be very carefull, go slow and try to take them on an angle.

That works most of the time, but some of them are around here are absolutely insane as to how large of a speedbump they are.
