I just ordered both of these parts. Hopefully I can get them and install next week. Will these make a big difference with a non lowered stock si? HFP suspension is next.

I didn't even think about how it sits under the car. I'll keep that in mind when/if I go over speed bumps.

How much is the car lowered for the ppl that scrape on speedbumps? I'm looking to add these 2 next and a couple months add the HFP suspension which is .9 inches so will that have clearance issues?

I agree with sickyute... That piece mounts to one of the strongest areas of the unibody. The new FG chassis is much stiffer than people are realizing. In almost a year of autocrossing the new LX Coupe, I can honestly say that I feel no shudder or shake anywhere while on the road or on the autocross course.

Now, on the 1993 Civic autocross beast I had, yes, braces were a necessity, especially after I started running custom rate Konis and really high spring rates along with gigantic sway bars.

In short... Money spent on one of these Tanabe pieces should be considered a cosmetic upgrade, not a performance one.

I 100% agree.

I had the Si on jackstands a few weeks ago and got underneath the car to swap out exhaust systems. When I I looked at the jackstands while moving around I noticed that 3 were in place firmly and one actually had half an inch of air between the stand and the body. That's how stiff this chassis is. I have NEVER put a car in the air like that before and have light between the stand and the chassis. Needless to say I had a pretty big grin after seeing that even with all that air in there the chassis didn't twist/move at all.

The fg and the ep are both extremely stiff chassis's - but folks these bars really do something, you will feel it, I know I could on the ep3.
Anyway, support a sponsor, get yours at CorSport: Tanabe Sustec 4-Point Under Braces <---- we have 2 in stock on the shelf currently, while Tanabe themselves are on backorder until January.

Thanks for looking,
Tanabe Sustec 4-Point Under Braces

Mine scrapes on certain speedbumps. Most of them I can avoid scraping by taking it at an angle and going very slowly over. Some I can't avoid period. You have to be careful with road debri as some of it will hit the brace. I've hit quite a few things and scraped quite a few times and all the brace has to show for it is a couple of scars. This thing is TOUGH and has taken the abuse I've thrown at it perfectly so far. No bends, no breaks, no cracks, no anything.

The Cusco brace looks to have a lot more clearance under the car, yes.

how low is your car??? mine is at stock height right now but i'm going to do the hfp drop on it??? I thought about the cusco bar but you have to bend some exhaust hangers to make it fit i think

I have the Tein S-Tech's which lower the car quite a bit over stock. With stock or the HFP suspension I'd say you'll be perfectly fine. I don't think it'll lower the car enough for you to have many clearance problems.

^Isnt that an upper bar for the ex/dx/lx only?

The sustec is maybe 2 thick at the most -- in most sections way thinner then that --- anyway, I dont see how any bar would be 2" more clearance then the sustec brace as thats the thickness of the brace at its largest mounting point.
