I don't think they're necessary on the new FG chassis.

It's plenty stiff already for street, autocross, or track day duty.

Then again, you may just want them to impress yo friendz.

I picked it up used on eBay for $200. It's a Carbing unit.

Ya'll are wild. I wish it came in that sexy orange color I saw the other day. Brighten up that drab engine bay. I don't have any friends to impress though, yo....

All the plastic goes back over it, so you don't even see it in the engine bay.

Now if I could only get those plastic pieces to fit right. Since I took it apart the first time, they have NEVER gone back together right. It's a bit on the frustrating side.

Yeah, that was the fun part I remember from changing out my VC last weekend. You just need to pull it apart again and go from scratch. I had to do this two times until I got the drivers side to pop together right finally. Tricky little bastardo that trim piece is.

so are you saying it doesn't help on the new FG frame? I had one on my 97 hb and my 01 teg and they helped a touch.

The FG2 chassis is really, really stiff. I say that because I jacked the car up and put it on jackstands and it was on 3 of them perfect but I saw daylight in the other. The fact that the chassis didn't move to conform into that last jack tells me that Honda did a great job in making this chassis stiff.

Since that is the case, this car won't respond nearly as well to a strut tower bar as some other chassis that aren't nearly as stiff will.

When I installed mine I did feel a slight difference in handling. The front end feels more planted, now, and the front and rear end feel much more in-tune with each other.

I can't wait for a front sway-bar to come out (that doesn't require me to buy the rear sway bar). That is my next mod.
