the HFP suspension is supposed to last the life of the car. unless you were driving and blew it being a maniac. it should be under warranty unless you installed yourself.

Yes you can mate HFP springs with aftermarket shock/ struts, but keep following in mind when you do. The HFP shock/ strut is shorter than stock and/ or most aftermarket companies. The HFP shock/ struts are designed to work with HFP springs to provide end-user with it's intent of matched performance. Performance meaning the direct relation between the shock/ strut and HFP springs for model specific 8th civics. You may/ may not notice a handling difference if you were to go that route when that time comes to replace the HFP shocks/ struts with aftermarket.
