New Greasable Ball Joint End Links

Beware of the Heim Joint Style of End Link replacement. I had picked up a set of them and put them on my car at the same time as my HFP kit. They started out rough, with an occasional clunk and within 2 weeks got to the point where they just plain rattled over every little bump. I researched and found that all of the RSX guys are using Hotchkis End Links, so I found a set of those in stock at www.rennickmotorsports.com for $134 and picked them up Friday.

Friday night I started to do the install and couldn't get 2 of the nylock nuts off of the threaded shaft due to the rattling which caused one of them to strip out the threaded shafts that the nylock nut goes on to tighten the end links. The other rear one was just begining to strip. After hacksawing and nutbusting the bolts off I installed the new Hotchkis end links front and back and tested them.

The handling was the same, the ride was smoother and best of all they were silent. Highly recomended!!! Anyone who is considering or already has the Progress rear sway bar needs to put these on your short list.

Here is a couple of PICS.

The ones that I removed are exactly like the Corsport ones. The Ball joint style are much better.

My "squeaky, rattly, crappy" endlinks have been on my car for a few months now and have not made a SINGLE squeak or rattle. They haven't clunked, and they've been nothing short of perfect. That's driving in the rain, driving down a dirt road, etc.

I've removed and reinstalled them twice already and it was just as easy as the factory ones.

Looks like I got the best set of them in the world.

Good to hear your new set is working out for you, though. They definitely look to be a great-quality unit!

I take it you got the Corsport ones, which are obviously better quality than the ones I had picked up at a local shop.. I'm glad your happy with yours. I'm happy with mine and I just like the fact that they are greasable. It just makes them smoother.

I've built a few offroad truck 4 link suspensions in my day and Heim joints are always used for stiffness and strength, however they are known to transmit vibrations and aren't usually used in street driven setups, Ball joint style are used. Kinda like why the auto manufacturers all use Ball joints not Heim joints...

What did you use to greased up the endlinks?? Is there anything else that needs to be greased up beside the endlinks?
