Rear shocks blown on EX coupe

Ground-Control gave me a a free kit as part of their final test fit for '06 Civics, and the ride hide was set pretty low. So, its no big surprise that the shocks are blown, but what is interesting to me is that its only the rear shocks, and also they blew very quickly, within about 2 months. They are so bad that the ride is absolute shit with a lot of bounce and clunking, and the shock oil has leaked all over the shock body and lower control arms.

I need to buy new rear shocks, but there are no aftermarket products available. I can get new Honda shocks for around $120 through hondapartsdeals.com but I have a couple of questions...

1) Should I just buy the shock itelf, or do you think I need any thing else with it, like bolts etc?

2)Since the rear shocks are mounted separate from the spring, can I just install it myself, is it just a simple bolt on fix? Or does it need to be done with a specific amount of torque on the bolts? Could I just jack the car up and unbolt the blown shock then replace with the new one? Is it that simple?

I appreciate any help you guys can offer---Brian

If you're going to just get Honda ones, get the Si ones at least

You need new bolts as the old ones won't tighten the same.

i remember seeing the pdf for instruction on how to install the
dealer aftermarket spring/shock kit at www.collegehillshonda.com

read that first and see if it's something you can do on your own.

i would personally use the same bolt/nut if they look okay.
some nuts have a one-time lock feature that will loose its
integrity after it is loosened. even so, you can use locktite
if needed.

shouldn't be hard to do if you have the right tools.
