Suspension/Wheel setup
Newb qusetion!
Alright, so ive gone through pretty much all forums and found nothing on what to do with my car. The set up i have right now for wheels are 18X7.5 +35 offset and i have 225/40/18 rubber around them. The car i have is a civic sedan DX with stock suspension. I want to stiffen up the ride cause it feels like im driving a boat right now... =( I get some rub on dips and what not/ extra passengers. I know the offset is not the greatest but i wanted it to be the closest to the fender as possible without buying spacers. Can anyone sugest how much i could lower my car? Im considering the Tein H-techs beacause the drop is minimal but im also wondering if i even could go more. Last edited by Kimdave88; 11-08-2008 at 04:07 PM. Reason: Sp |

pics? you want to stiffen your ride rear sway bar (si or aftermarket) if your rubbing already and your not even lowered i would question lowering it, you can try the HFP suspension. 2006-2008 Honda Sedan Factory Performance Accessories for Sedan

I will definatly get swaybars to help in turns but what about bounce? I dont really rub the car when its myself and another passenger. I only really only rub on an un even road. The HFP suspension says it drops close to 1 inch and the springs rates were 200/200 vs. the tein h-tech were a 0.7/0.8 and 220/240 or something like that. I currently dont have any pictures of my car unfortunatly. but it is about a 2 finger gap maybe even 2 and a half. But at the time i first got my set of wheels the gap was higher.

the h-tech give you a small drop less than a inch. here is a pic of mine on h-tech 225 45 17 17*7.5 +45 offset

Looking at that for some reason really makes me think that it'll increase more rubbing.... I dont know what to do. Would the H-techs provide less rub or more? Oh and another thing i found that for the coupe it seems that the HPF set up is fine with the 18X7.5 +35 on 225/40/18. Would there be any difference if it was a sedan instead?
