lowering springs and shocks vs full coilovers`
ok, i am definitley looking for a new suspension setup, my only problem is i dont know what to go with. i know someone who did drifting for a while on just lowering spring and shocks and said it was the best. then i know a lot of guys in town who say full coilover all the way. What i need to know is what is best for daily driving/occasional weekend track warrior and daily driver/time attack and autocross. any help would be awesome.
lowering springs and shocks vs full coilovers........opinions anyone? |

honestly the best if a setup that meets your needs which is most likely not a prebuilt coilover setup...a setup you can build would be something like choosing your spring...choosing your strut....there you can select the dampening properties ur spring rate...adjustablitly everything you want and you need. To get started take a look at redshift konis!

the redshift konis', cool. Thanks for the quick reply too btw. i didn't think i needed to spend all the money on a full coilover prebuilt setup. really i just want to finish reinforcing my chassis, get a good lowered look, and have more prestigous handling. something easy to build and fun to drive.

I would just go with coilovers. They have ones that won't break your back and are fine for DD with adjustable dampening. Most people (who i know at least) end up getting coilovers even after buying springs cuz you'll always be wondering how your car will feel/handle with coilovers. I mean if you get a good shock/spring combo, then u can go that route too but if you're just planning on buying springs, I'd go with the coilovers.

depends on how extreme you want
ofcoz choosing the specific springs and shocks will give you the best handling but, ask youself how often do you go to track your car? and how often do you drive it around town, then you should get the answer. |
