General feedback on lowering...

While I have considered lowering my Si, I never really SERIOUSLY considered doing it until I just read jay3151's thread below...

White SI

This is one of the nicest looking Si's I've seen. Was just wondering if anyone thinks that the Si kind of "needs" a bodykit to look good lowered? Maybe it doesn't. I was just trying to get some feedback.

IMHO the car looks much better lowered with or without a body kit

No car "needs" it, but it does enhance it's appearance to have it lowered with a body kit. Any car looks awesome just lowered anyway.

Thanks for the pic larryd...that looks great. Are those sportlines? It looks like your car settled really nicely. The only thing that concerns me is the potential for the rear to drop more than the front. That looks AWFUL!

black_civic_si...that's looks really nice...doesn't look as low as some of the others I've seen. Might be just enough for me, though. How much of a drop (approx.) is that?

With or without the HFP kit, the car looks 52 times better with a drop. I'm not a fan of the more conservative drops just because it almost looks like money was spent on something that didn't even effect the look of the car. I had the Pro-kit on my last Civic and always wished that I could have gone back and lowered it further.

A car NEEDS a drop when you get larger rims or different wheels, because the wheel gap will be accentuated. These tend to make the car look 'lifted.'

Personally, I see absolutely no reason to lower the car any more than it is stock.

I think it's rather low as it is, and it accentuates the wheel wells nicely as it is.

I never considered lowering a car until I decided my del Sol was to "watery" feeling. Once I lowered it I was a changed woman. The stiffer ride, stiffer body, the lower center of gravity and good tires made driving in Italy even more fun. The car handled like a dream. I had KYB AGX shocks, Skunk 2 sleeved coilovers, Strut bar off of a GSR and Toyo T1Ss.

All I'll say about the Blue Meanie is that while the ride is good stock, it can still be improved. And a major improvement is in store for it soon.
