Also another option would be the 4.3 fd paired up with a shorter 4th and 5th. Am I correct?

Idk. That would just make for weird shifts probably.

Remember, a 4.3 makes all of the gears longer.

Yeah.. I know a few all motor guys run the type r 4th and 5th.. I believe it makes the gears a little shorter but not sure?? Well this would be the same concept just with the 4.3 fd

PM coryalert, i checked his build thread and didn't see anything about a different FD. It will drastically increase the length of your gears. The 4.3 isn't the only other FD out there. They make nearly every size from 4.0- 5.02. Maybe find one that isn't quite as small so you don't loose as much acceleration

I also had previously ran the calculations before and with my setup 225/45/17 I thought I would redline at 119-120 at 8500rpms with the 4.3 fd. But I was just using the calculator but it was pretty close when I put in stock fd #s.

Yeah corey had a 4.3 but I am not sure if he is still running it or not.
