Need help on ct setup

Anyone know the bearing part number on the grooved idler pulley. It would be greatly appreciated. I tried calling ct and they are closed on the weekends and I feel as if the bearings are so shot they could go at any second. Thanks in advance.

Damn that sucks. That've you had to replace them more than that once? Hopefully it holds out till I get them

nope that was the first time. make sure you check out the smooth idler while you are at it just to make sure.

eventually whenever i get the time to both do it and find my stock pulley ill pull the bracket and mill the little stub and use the larger stock pulley. no more of these small pulleys that are seeing more RPM than they should be.

I just tried replacing the bearing on my grooved idler pulley, but I noticed after installing the new bearing the pulley was wobbling slightly. New bearing lasted about 30 miles before it went out. I was using the stock idler pulley setup for months with no issues, but just wanted to try a new bearing and see if the ct-e setup would work again. Oh well, now I'm back to the stock pulley setup.

Thats a good info man. I know it s not idler pulley but still. Even though CT claims that v2+ versions are serviceable; i dont think they are. Once bearings are removed, puley inside is streached. Even placing a new bearing will cause bearing "walk" and fail. JRSC or CT v.1 "plastic" one lasted me almost 60k and still working. Aluminum one failed within 5k lol.. "improved" to say the least. JRSC 2" pulley is way more rigid than CT aluminum one imo.

hmmm when i put the bearing back in my aluminum one it went in very snug and have had no issues. it is possible perhaps when you pressed it in that it went in very slightly crooked. leaving the bearing out of place and also perhaps misshaping the bore of the hole.

yeah, It leaves me wanting to press in another bearing and see if I can get it right. But now I just don't trust leaving it in even if I did get it to work. I could at least keep it to use as an emergency pulley in case the stock pulley ever goes out.

Did you just press it in by hand after taking the c-ring off? Or does it require another tool?
