i have a question regarding the a/c when installing. in the instructions it says to empty system in order to add the spacer to the line. if i remember correctly, some members have NOT added this? i just wanted to get more insight in this matter and could not find it in a search.
for those that did this, do you remember about how much it cost? oddly enough my a/c seems to run sorta funny. when i am just idling it is only cool where as when i am driving it is cold but sometimes feels like it cycles between cool and cold.... wonder if flushing the system would help fix that?
When I did mine I found a shop to drain it and fill it for 45 dallors. Also for some reason my hose does not sit that high. So I really did not have to you the zip ties and rubber piece they giveyou to put on the hood prop.
uh depends on if you can find a shop thatll do the drain for ya... i didnt have a shop drain it lol but yeah it sits pretty high and i was looking at it and it doesnt clear the blower by that much so i dunno if i can take off the adapter.
If your feeling lazy you can just open the system and let it evac to the air. Then install the spacer and refill with refrigirant. Its super easy to refill. I bought a can of refrigirant for like $20 and it's still half full after I filled my system.
yea i popped mine myself cause i couldnt find a place to drain and refill a few days later for the price as if i were doing a flush/refill right then and there.
just do like i did, unscrew it and pull the line and just let it release to the atm ( recommend not sittin there in the immediate area just as a health precaution). then i put the spacer in and refilled it with a $10-15 bottle of stuff from autozone. however ive looke at it many times and even if the spacer wasnt in there it looks like there wouldnt be any issues
no offense to anyone here but just to note it has been done with successful results.... see link. this was the ONLY reason i asked. i am not a person to skimp but when i hear it can be done, it makes me think
of course it can not be done, if you look at it after it is installed it easy to see there would be plenty of clearance without it. after i did it i wondered to myself why i even worried about it
