Pros and cons: Stage 2 Supercharger VS Stage 1 Supercahrger w/ hotter cams
Did the search function but came up with nothing relavant.
Just wondering if anyone had experience with these set ups? Higher boost (smaller pulleys, larger injectors) VS lower boost with hotter cams (that are meant for FI)... Thanks for your input! Cheers! EDIT Let me rephrase the question: I already have a supercharger, what would the difference be if I got... 3.2″ PulleyBoys pulley 81″ Goodyear Gatorback belt RC Engineering 650cc saturated injectors w/ clips VS Lets say Brian Crower Stage 2 Boost Camshafts Both with a good tune. I'm guessing they would make around the same power but in different parts of the powerband? Which one would yield more torque you think? Experience with other cars (say the RSX Type-S) welcome! Considering the stage 2 kit isnt out yet...
And cams wont do much unless you get v-manage and e-manage to tune the cam angles. Paring up say a tsx / ITR cam would do some. Idk how the afr's will look. |

Pros for stage 2: You must have a time machine, that's awesome
![]() Cons for stage 2: It's not out for the rest of us... I really can't think of a "con". Pros for "hotter" cams: If/when you can tune for more aggressive cams, they will be useful Cons for "hotter" cams: Your A/F ratio will be out of whack and you won't be able to tune for them... unless of course you use your aforementioned time machine. |

The Beast Unleashed - COMplex's Comptech Supercharged 2006 Honda Civic Si - civic.plex.nu
This guy made a custom stage 2 supercharger... so we won't need a time machine. ![]() Let me rephrase the question: I already have a supercharger, what would the difference be if I got... 3.2″ PulleyBoys pulley 81″ Goodyear Gatorback belt RC Engineering 650cc saturated injectors w/ clips VS Lets say Brian Crower Stage 2 Boost Camshafts Both with a good tune. If both a stage 2 upgrade were available and a tuning solution for cams, I'd go with stage 2. You will be able to see the gains over the entire powerband with the higher boost & bigger injectors. With cams, it takes most tuners a little bit of time ($$) to dial in cams for an optimal powerband, especially if they're really aggressive.

Stage 2 cams will require some head work and unless you can tune the cams correctly there is no point. You wont get nearly as much power as possible. How do you plan on tuning them because you know you have to mate 2 tuning programs to be able to tune the cam angles. Which is a lot of money and not worth it. just wait for stage2 comptech kit and get that. |
