I'm mixed... since I first read about tail of the dragon, I've been wanting to drive it but its 14 hours away from nyc and more importantly 1600 miles (round trip commute) on my new car lol. Deffinitely keep me posted on the plans, I can deffinitely see myself going if things pan out the right way.

:)

Thanks a lot for your interest! I'll add you to my list.

So you're from nyc? Although the number of people interested is not large at this time, we are very geographically dispersed. We are from NC, GA, LA, FL, PA, OH, DE, MD, KY, and now NY. (I hope I didn't leave anyone out. )

This thread started with a bang, but hasn't received much attention in the last few days. Maybe a lot of people see this as some regional show, but I see it as so much more than that.

Here's what I'm trying to do:
This is not a car show. I'll wash my car before I leave home, but I'm not bringing my detailing kit along. This meet is about spirited (not stupid) driving and enjoying our cars on what may be the best curvy road in the country. It's also about sharing the experience with new friends that feel the same passion for their cars as you do.

I hope to hear from more of you.:)

Great map - thanks for posting it. One of the best I have seen for the back roads of the area (and the speedtraps - haha). C-ya there if you decide to make the drive.

My friend Darryl Cannon has a website dedicated to the Tail of the Dragon.
He and his crew shoot photos there every weekend.

Check it out!

Ha. Yeah, I wish. She'll be 3.5 hours in the other direction at school. I'll still ask her though.
