Well, folks, I went to the dealership where I purchased my Si from and to my surprise, the service Manager was extremely receptive to my problem with 3rd gear. He acknowledged the fact that they had already attempted to fix this issue with syncros and shift forks with no luck at all. I showed him this thread (3rd Gear Solution Underway) and he actually sat there and read it for several minutes. I told him about Amsoil and how it would bandaid the problem until a true fix came out. He didn't bat an eye when I asked if they would change my fluid to Amsoil in an attempt to try and keep from any further damage being caused by the 3rd gear problem. AND he also told me that as soon as he got the bulletin on the true fix to to this issue, he said he would call and he suggested I call there about every two to three weeks to see if a bulletin had came out just in case it slipped his mind. I will also add that he didn't even so much as ask to drive my car to "replicate the problem". He took my word for it and left it at that. I have actually found an honorable Service Manager. And for now, no third gear problem yet since the fluid change. Temp is around 40 - 50 degrees during the day and around freezing or a little below at night so I am pleased with Amsoil for the time being. Just thought I would share the good fortune.
Landers Honda in Pine Bluff if anyone has any issues with their dealerships. Jared said Bale is a good place as well. Last edited by pbpd4816; 01-24-2008 at 09:01 PM. |

Awsome. I hadn't had any issues since my fluid change when I installed the header, but I do have some slight rattle around 3-4,000 RPM that I need to check out.
My stock exhaust + DCRH set up is also starting to sound ricey, I think something is loose. It doesn't sound like it used to. Also, I drove the TL today and put down on it. It's nice to have torque! V6 VTEC FTW! |

It's a 2002 and It's screaming for the factory lip kit but other than that it only has one dime sized ding on the rear door and a scratch on the bottom of the front bumper that the factory lip kit will cover up. Everything else is immaculate! |
