I had 21" in my backyard in '03, but I'm a little further west in High Point.

What is your price range? A great community to definitely check out is "Hedingham". Convenient to Capital and priced very fair

$750 a month. I'm looking for an apt. Not going to buy a house in NC because I'm not sure how long I'll be there. I'm getting screwed by the housing market in Arizona and not wanting that to happen again.

Hedingham looks like a really nice area. I'm going to check out that area to see if there are any rental houses there.

Yeah it looks nice and prices are cheap compared to AZ. I'm just not wanting to buy until I know I'm staying somewhere for 5 years at least.

I used to live off of Sixforks in N Raleigh when I interned up there... the only advice I have for you is to watch out for those damn red-light cameras. EVERYWHERE. I dunno if they are still there, but 1.5yrs ago when I was there it was like every light.

If you like to play pool there's Brass Tap on Capital Blvd. That's what I did in my spare time so thats all I really know... haha.

I don't recall 20in of snow in NC (my family lives in Winston-Salem). It might snow once a year for like 1" and sometimes we get freak snowstorms at like 8" (just a guess).

Don't drive like a maniac unless you want a big ass speeding ticket, cops in NC don't play. LOL =]

Have fun in NC! Kinda boring for younger people with no family of their own, but can be nice to raise a family in.

I moved to Goldsboro (1 hour east of Raleigh) 2 years ago from England after spending a month in California. We got here December 1st and the temperature change was a complete shock to our systems. It was a lot colder than we had expected. We ended up buying new coats the first week.

Also, the first summer was hotter than anything we had dealt with in California too. The humidity is killer here. Now we're used to it though and absolutely love living here.
