Is $36K salary enough to live in Orlando, FL?
Ok guys, on these last weeks I had received many calls from employers in Florida specially in Orlando. Must of them are offering me a salary from $18-$25 hourly rate. Right now I live in Puerto Rico but I still living on my mother's house and I have a monthly salary of $3,000.
My question is, if with a salary of $3,000 monthly is enough for a single guy that will be living in the Orlando area with a decent quality of life? Im using this wizard as a guide but I dont know if is really close to the real life in Orlando. Thanks guys/girls. |

Funny you should ask that question. I almost moved to Florida recently. Unfortunately my transfer didn't go through.
But to answer your question. Yes, $36000 is enough for someone to live in Orlando. I believe its more then enough, really. But it all depends on what type of life you want, I guess. It will be enough for a nice apartment and a new Si, and maybe even a small, little cheap house, but not a good house. You need more for a nice house. But if the plan is a nice apartment and a nice car then its enough. Believe me, most of my family lives in the Orlando area so I know. The only thing that you need to worry about is the different way of life. Florida is definetly at a slower speed then most places in America. I live in NJ, right across the river from NYC, so life up here is a lot busier. I'm not sure how it is in Pureto Rico. Florida is a very deceitful place. If your visiting for 2 weeks its feels great and you feel like you want to live there. But if you stay past the 2 weeks the slowness gets to you, especially if your use to a busy life style. Its a serious decision and you should do some more research. Having family there helps. If you had the chance to stay there for a month that would help greatly. See what you could do. Later. |

I dont want a rich like life. I'm comfortable with a place in where I can sleep, have my personal things, like PC, TV, etc, I really don't know if I will buy a new or used car.
What I'm going to miss is my FG2, I already have some mods on it and having to began again from scratch with another SI is making me consider another type of car. |
